THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i just looked into the nitro d30 shafts and they have the alloy x joints... hmm...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

oh no, can't get those now!!

Just tell them you want the spicers instead, and they should be able to swap em out. If not, order them with no joints and get spicers separate

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

and go on AIM, damn it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

:eyes:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ok. i need them gone before next weekend because otherwise i'm stuck moving them back home at the end of the semester. if you can make it today or anytime this week, let me know.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

stuck at school. want to work on jeep.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Anthony replied. Also I dont know about current Alloy ujoints but Ive never found much diff. between them and Spicer 760 joints anyway. When its come to either one its always been the shaft thats broke. Unless your going to go to a CTM or other type then just go 760. IMO

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i've heard good things about nitro too. aren't they the ones that are going to be handling alloy USA warranty claims? hmm i wonder if nitro makes 8.25 alloys... time to go hunting
Wrong, that's Ten Factory.

X2. Run a good Spicer joint and be done with it unless you are spending some cash.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i did some fabbing on the new d30 today, spacers are on the knuckles, inserts are welded into the steering, and i have full lock to lock steering. i had to get a bunch of stuff out of the way and grind about 1/10 or an inch off the riddler but its all done now. and im filthy and tired...

off to the parts store tomorrow to hopefully get some WJ lower BJ's (moog of course)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

didn't you graduate already?
umass's spring semester doesn't start till the tail end of jan, so the graduation isn't till next saturday

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

bump, i responded back...

and i really have no experience with u-joints... can 760s be had at a local parts store or should i order them?

this is all planning for future purchases, i am freakin broke right now.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

760s can be had thru anyplace that carries spicer, probably would be on the shelf but if not they can order them easily. I bet Colin could get you a set from Crown for cheap...

i bet he knows exactly what they cost from crown right off the top of his head... colin?

correct me if i'm wrong but these same joints can be used in factory style driveshafts, right?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i think a 760 is about $30 a pop from Crown if i'm not mistaken.

oh and BTW....

THE JEEP LIVES!!!!! It's front wheel drive right now and i need a linkage for the tcase set up so it stops popping the tcase into neutral... but it drives! I couldnt road test it because I don't have plates but I got it to third, and reverse, and everything. Clutch is niice and firm, and seems to work nicely. I even got it backed into the garage now. What a milestone!

Next up: ordering a waterpump and moog balljoints this afternoon
heims for the tcase linkage (adam i may recruit your help)
clean up the garage
intstall waterpump
tear apart front end
etc
