Ya but do you know why he is gay for it?

We were sweating it, we didn't think we were going to be able to get everything, sawz-all batteries don't last last... (at least the first 2 didn't, the 3rd and final battery lasted longer than both of the first batteries combined)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so loading up the transmission with oil is a very messy job, BTW. I can't get it running yet though since I have to run out to sears and get a 30mm socket, annnnd I ripped my work pants down the crotch so I have to go find another cheapo pair of pants that won't mind a gear oil bath

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

kyle, use a siphon pump, it's not thaaaaat bad. does suck a little bit.

and for the 30mm socket... adjustable wrench is all i have to say. it's not like they get torqued to that much... and did you be sure to not use GL-5? supposedly it eats the synchros cuz it has too much sulfur content. GL-3 is what you're supposed to use but i've never heard concretely one way or the other. if you found GL-3, wher did you get it? i've been running 30wt motor oil in mine since december... :gee:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

WJ knuckles welded!!! they're currently sitting in a sand bath waitin til tomorrow to be removed. its so hard to try and focus on working on a D30 now that i have 1tons waitin.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

oh i bought a siphon bump but its still a mess when the MT-90 bottles have a non-standard cap so the pump didn't seal well, and the hose also fell out of hte fill hole a few times too.

i tried an adjustable wrench but its too akward of an angle on the fill plug and it was starting to round it off. its tight because i used to have a 30mm socket (before all my tools were stolen). i'm using MT-90, i've done my homework!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

what's mt-90?

i'm pretty sure they're cast steel, not cast iron...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

jesus that's expensive...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

it's still gl-4... i've heard -3 was the way to do it but couldn't find any anywhere

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yeah but its apparently some of the best stuff you can get. i was running it in the old transmission for a year and a half or so and when i drained it, it was still as clean as it was brand new. besides for the metal shavings though

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hmm good to know. i'll get some of that when i swap my tranny.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

it was cheaper through summitracing, i think maybe $10 a quart instead of $12

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just realized it's been 1 year and 2 days since I bought the Honcho. I was just looking at the pictures of it from the day I bought it and it was on May 14th 2008
