Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ok, really odd, maybe just stupid question, But... Is anyone a member of Nejeep.org that might, maybe let me use there name to look at a few pictures? There was maybe 25-30 rigs at Mabelle from nejeep on sunday. A lot of good video and pictures of my buggy, But I guess you have to be a full member to see them. I registered to the site, But still nothing. I was going to register for the year, but its $70 just to look at pictures...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

thats badass Ross, i loved my 90 Waggy, just look very close at the frame around the gas tank, thats where they tend to rot bad but its a easy fix

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just got oil and a filter for the waggy. also picked up 4 new walmart 5.25" speakers and put them in, now its got bitchin tunes (stock deck works fine and will remain there for now).

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so im gonna braise the spacers onto my WJ knuckles i have been reading up on welding cast and this seems like the best option for reliability

yay or nay says those who have done it

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The knuckles are cast steel I believe? They're not cast iron, I know that. You can just pre and post heat and weld them with a MIG. Or at least thats what I'm gunna do.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So, this is the new jeep. i was looking for a comanche or another cherokee, but as soon as my dad saw this, he just had to have it.

1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer
-360 V8 with Edelbrock 600 CFM performer
-78k miles
-Auto, 4x4
-Dana 44's F&R with 2.72's
-All new brakes, im talking all lines, hoses, shoes, drums, hardware, pads, rotors, calipers
-Recent tune-up stuff, runs damn good, carb needs a little tweaking
-All lines and emissions stuff are all there in great shape
-Body doesnt have any rust, solid floors, underneath jsut has some surface rust here and there, one spot on the rear frame might need a little patch, no biggie
-LOADED OPTIONS!! PS, PB, AC, power windows, power locks, power seats, power mirriors, tilt wheel, and pretty much everything else it could have (all work)

We're thinking of maybe doing a couple of things to toughen it up. the springs and shocks are tired, so it may get some 2"-3" leafs and shocks and some 30's or 31's. the exhaust seems pretty recent, but its the wrong tailpipe and it hits the frame and the trackbar mount on the rear axle. the pipe is all crimed in, solution to this is some new dual exhaust and a flowmaster.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ya, slightly surprised. I showed up with me, one other trailer, and 2 rigs. Then a freight train of trailers and rigs came around the corner. I counted atleast 20 before I gave up trying to figure out who went where. All good guys though, it was a good day.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Good idea. you should probably do that Ross :)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

try to jack up on it and a Couple welds might be the way to go...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yup.

pretty sure they're cast steel.... just do a grinder test on them. dark orange sparks means cast iron, regular means cast steel. and if they are cast iron, heat them to 500-1100* F, then weld, then slow cool (with heat). putting them in a bucket of sand works well for cooling, i've heard.
