Also, found this from when the guy who built the axle was selling it on my clubs board a while back...turns out it IS the .500" wall tube...

'78 D44 front axle w 4.10s out of a 3/4 ton ford pickup (1/2 heavy wall tube), been cut and narrowed to waggy width, claytons HD high clearence brackets with jonny joints installed, with a new detroit drop in locker installed. This has been converted to bronco 5 on 5, with all NEW spindles, ball joints, timken bearings, seals,rotors, calipers. This is complete, rotor to rotor, Also has a SOLID diff guard. I've been holding this for someone for 4 months now, I can't any longer. I have alot invested, serious best offers only

I gave the guy $400. Surprisingly the truck towed really well for having 2 huge axles in the bed and a trailer with a Jeep on it. My buddy Bob drove and surpringly I had to shift up to drive for him at one point. The tranny is definitely getting beat. It didnt really want to back up at my house with all the weight. Looks like the 4spds going in soon. I've already laying out the plans for the 2dr. as well. I already have the side windows sold, I believe. It was too dark to take pics last night but only 8pm.
