THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i used a bigass metal bandsaw and bridgeport to cut and drill my d-ring tabs :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just by "feel" I think colin's might be a 1/2 44. My Honcho's 44 was back breaking heavy while Colin's was pretty light. Also from the picture I posted the tube size on his looks about right to the 1/2 ton example.

True. It did feel really light compared to yours.

The 1/4" wall tube were only the '78-'79 with cast wedges. The most undesirable of the D44's. All others had 3/8" or 1/2".

I just went and took this. I believe it measures .49 something when I measured it with calipers when I did my build (I ground some of the OD down because I used this piece of the tube to break the spindles free of the knuckles). Definitely not 1/4 or 3/8 though.

of course not!! jsut ask mark about crappy plasma cutters/welders. i showed him the scariest peices of craps known to man. when i go back to airgas next week, ill be getting prices on some thermal dynamics ones
If you are looking at a good 220V version, see if they'll do a quantity discount.

Not true. As Ross pointed out it had leaf spring perches at one point.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

dont forget that your 44 is full width and 8 lug compared to a narrowed 44 and 5 lug

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I knew someone was going to give me shit about the FISHING supply ruler I grabbed. ITS RED.

This piece of the axle tube, as well as the wedges are sitting right outside of my basement door, where I cut them of last year. They have not moved.

Agreed, my D44 was a bear to pick up with it was full width. After I cut it down some I could manage it a lot easier. That 8 lug stuff is a lot heavier.

I wasn't going to purely because of what is written between the '1' and the '2'.

im not guna lie, when i first saw the picture, i thought to myself "thats a Bill approved ruller" jsut cause of that

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ross I had talked to him a couple times about it but hadn't heard back from until today so I figured it was him. I ended up buying a 2dr xj instead tonight.

Speaking of heavy axles, I left the d60 and 10.25 in the bed when I picked up the xj. I'm gonna use my hoist to pull my axles out as soon as I find a spot for them.

I actually have one of those Chinese type plasma cutter/tig/ac/dc stick welders but I have never used it. I bought it over a year ago and supposedly it's USA made but it's not a brand name. I got it cheap and all the accessories are legit pieces and worth the price I paid. I just haven't had the time to set it up and I'm afraid I'm gonna be pissed when I use it and it works like crap. I figure I'll try it out at some point.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That's what my tubes look like for thickness :) Definitely WAY beefier than the 30, and a very noticeable difference also compared to the EB44s I have around... I'll take a couple minutes tomorrow and snap a pic of the EB compared to '77 F150 tubes...
