THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i had dw i couldnt figure out, ended up that the axle side bolt for my steering stabalizer was worn down enough to cause 1/4-1/2" of play inside the bushing sleeve, got a different bolt and tightened the hell out of it=no more dw...the power steering pump shit itself 5 mins later wtf...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

nothing clunks and the steering is very tight. i'll try having someone jiggling the wheel tomorrow as I haven't done that in a little over a week...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

that's how i find most of my loose stuff, if it's loose... holding a hand over every joint and not even looking can usually tell you. what about the 3 bolts that hold the hubs down? are those tight?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yea, i'll double check those tomorrow too...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

here's a long shot... what about the hub nuts themselves?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

driver's side is torqued to 175 ft. lbs. and the passenger side is torqued to whatever it was when I got the Jeep.

it didn't come loose at all? you must have had to change it when you did the WJ stuff. are you sure it's one wheel and not the other or is it both?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

nah, just unbolted the rear bolts and threw it in the other axle...remember, mine's a 2001 so it's got the right hubs on it already!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

DOH. i forgot that. well, for peace of mind, pull the cotter pin and check it...? :dunno: there's a lot of things that you've checked. i'm kinda surprised... you had this before the durango box, right?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

aright, i'm done brainstorming for tonight...NIGHT!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

gnight

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

didn't put the durango box in, just the WJ pump, and it was before that but after the 5.5" springs but it wasn't directly after the springs it was like 2 months after

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

balls. this is confusing. check the other hub. try loosening it and jiggling it... there should be no play even without any tension on it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You're right.

Thinking about it more it might be possible. I know the springs on my comanche dana 35 are inches away from the backing plate and I saw an explorer on the road today and it looked like the springs were pretty darn close the the backing plates as well. If the perches are within like 1.5" of my comanches perches it should bolt right up without anything bad happening to my bushings. I know I can't find any info on this since anyone doing an 8.8 on a manche seems to go SOA.
