THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

students always complain about early classes. yet they're dumb. they think 8 am is early. the rest of the world has already been up for 2 hours by 8 am.

I f-ing hate 8 am classes. I can never stay awake in them. I know I get up earlier for work and everything, but still. I am not prepared to take those same steps for an hour long class.

Plus, when I'm in classes I'm always awake until late at night, therefore depriving me of sleep when I have to get up early.

Colin, IF you really are going to start from scratch and narrow/build an axle, kook into a D60. All kidding aside, when you are said an done the price will be about the same if not very close. Seriously, sit down with a pad/pen or with a spreadsheet and compare them. You'll see what I mean. I'll see if I can dig up the one I did, I know I saw it a few weekends ago in my pile of notes. It's the whole reason I sold my HPD44 and got the HPD60...

Food for thought anyway...

(Oh, and yes, I know you "only" have a D44 rear. There is nothing saying you can't keep that. So don't start an argument that you'd need a new rear as well.)

I'm just not ready to move up to 37"+ tires yet. I haven't reinforced anything on the unibody yet, I haven't built a cage, etc. etc.

I'm sure the building of the axles themselves would be about the same, but I also wouldn't want to narrow the D60 either. If I build a D60, it's because I'll want to go to 37"+ tires and keep it full width.

How would I match the D60 bolt pattern with the XJ D44 rear? Can you do a 5x5.5 D60?

Why do you need 37s? Granted with the D60 you'll have less clearance, but I don't think all that much. I should have measured when I had both of them side by side before I sold the D44. Anyway, then if/when you decide to make the jump you don't have any work to do.

It almost sounds like you are trying to talk yourself into things here.

Yes. There are a few places to get the hubs. They are not cheap, but then again neither are new 8on6.5 hubs. Here is the first place I found that has them, I know I've seen them elsewhere on the PBB. http://www.blackbirdscustomtrucks.com/index14.html

In the end it is all your call. Your Jeep, your budget, your build. I'm just trying to save you from building something twice.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

waaaaah i want one tons too...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i would skip the 44 if i were you colin. a polished 44 is a 60, and a polished 60 is badass

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah I'm talking with Bill right now...

I might rock the D30 this summer and start putting together tons.

i think that's my plan.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i'm going to do a fullwidth HP KP 60 front and not sure on the rear... maybe a 14B cuz they're cheap. so heavy though. i dunno. we'll see. probably a 60 R too...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I had better stop talking to both of you. Otherwise I'll get you in the same mess I'm in. :gee:
i don't see a mess :dunno:
