THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

thats what i figured you'd say, that was the first thing i thought too. im pretty sure he said if i wanted anything over 10', he could do that too without a markup for cuts. idk, i gotta swing by there and talk to him in person. business is slow for him so he said he could get me whatever i wanted and for good deals, espically since i was gunna pay him cash.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

oh, in other news, my summit machine joints for the trac bar got in today
Sweetness.
I eat D30s for breakfast.
Gear oil = good for the blood.
Don't worry about it man. I have other pressing issues (*cough* D60 *cough*) that need to get taken care of.
You were one number off, easy to do as it is the correct key is above the incorrect one you typed it in the numpad. I'll let it slide.
Fixed it for ya:D
I fixed it better.
JK, really Colin, keep it "small". You've got a great rig going.
SO, anthony, i didnt get a price on the size of metal today, BUT, the place up the street from me finally called me back today. the guy had misplace my number. he didnt know if he could get shorter pieces like i had first asked him, so i told him i now wanted full lengths and he could do those no problem. so, for a 20' length of 12" wide 1/4" plate and a 20' length of 2x4 1/4" wall rect tubing would cost $200 cash. much less then i expected so im happy with that. i figure a 20' length of 2x6 shouldnt be too much, ill find out a deffinent price for ya;). anybody else want in on the buy? the more i get and use cash for, the better the deal the guy said he could do.
2x6x.250wall isn't gonna be cheap.
I was considering contacting you earlier today as I think I'm gonna order all my tubing and stuff I need next. However, the cost savings of me driving all the way down to your place rather than just having it delivered to my place for nothing, kinda defeats the purpose.
IDK, PM me if you think it'll be that great of a difference. I'm looking at about 120-160ft of 1.75" 0.120wall DOM tubing and 6ft of 2x6x0.250wall.
ross, 20 feet would do me little good. i need 4 sections of 6ft (rocker panels). if he gets 20' lengths, then i might just get them from a place local to home that i know deals in 24ft. we'll see.
FYI, it usually goes by the mill cuts and there is generally has no control over it. It varies day to day.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

bill, the piece you got from me is 2x6x.250 and no, it's not cheap.
also to bill: if it's the same price with no markup for 10'+ lengths, i'll get 12 ft length and one 18 ft and you can have 6ft off the 18 ft lengths

we'll figure it out.

hm, i didn't know that. interesting.

i just ate a HUGE bowl of honey nut cherios. i almost never eat cereal because the amount it takes to fill me is unreasonable.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

mmmm, a box of cereal (and yes, i mean the big ass boxes, not those little ones those are like shots for me) lasts me 2 or 3 mornings tops. i LOVE cereal and slug a huge bowl every morning.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Mmmmmm...how about shiny silver gear oil with gear chunks?

Haha I'd love to, but I don't think my XJ is ready for tons yet. I'd want to reinforce everything and I need it street legal for now.

I fixed it better.

I'm not going bigger than 35s for a while (or at least until I get another DD). I like where it is now, but I want to be able to hammer down when I have to and not worry about something grenading.

I talked to Bob, and Liza has a HP44 narrowed to waggy width setup for an XJ that she MIGHT want to part with. If she does, I'll probably go that route.

The problem with my D30 was that the open carrier is too weak. The runout on it was .020" on the spots where the teeth broke.

Needless to say, I'd want to go with a fullcase locker if I was to do it again. That means either ARB or OX (I don't want a detroit, I'd like my locker to stick around if a shaft breaks). I'd also have to setup my gears again.

Now that's a minimum of like $1500 more dumped into my D30. I could just do gears and an open carrier again (my lockright survived) and get away with like $700-$800, but still that would leave me with somewhere around $3k into a D30.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

well... finish as in finish getting parts. i nearly don't count the labor. everything (other than fab) should be plug and play and the fab is plug and play as far as fab is concerned.

you need to go d44 and sell me the lockrite

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

my plan is to have everything ready to bolt on except the OTA tb bracket... which gets welded on. that means all the work on the knuckles, having all the parts in hand, etc.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i was gonna say, i know a bunch of people that would take that lock rite...
