Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread
that bites ross....
in terms of the toe in with the alignment, that won't change with coil isolators. you'll just need to tweak the drag link some. ok maybe it will change a little bit because the stock steering sucks for being lifted... but not much. i've always gone to 1/16" to 1/8" toe combined. approaching 1/16" made it follow lines in the road, but i found 1/8" overall to be enough.
you guys would get more jeep work done if you didn't check the site every hour. that's what i've been doing. all my new control arms are in, front edelbrocks are in, coil buckets are drilled and tapped for 7/16-20 for 3 hockey pucks per side. it will give me about 3.75" of uptravel per side... i'm thinking about taking out the 7/8" coil spacer and going down to 2 hockey pucks (about 2" of bumpstopping) per side. it's hard to say right now, but it looks like the coils will certainly achieve their proclaimed ride height. but they haven't settled yet. so i'll leave it. and we'll see.
i'm going to mount the shock on the inner fender above the words "sport" (but inside the fender). should keep it pretty clear of harm's way, i hope. can't really figure out where to put them in the engine bay and the line is too long for piggy backing.
going to tie up the suspension tomorrow morning (still have to tighten the adjustable control arm jam nuts and reinstall the trac bar.) then i'm going to get seals for the D30 from napa and change the inner axle seals. i took the steering off cuz it was in my way and annoying me... so i might change the TRE at the pitman arm cuz it's been wearing out... while i have the steering off and am going to napa.
i wonder if anyone read that novel.
