Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

that bites ross....

in terms of the toe in with the alignment, that won't change with coil isolators. you'll just need to tweak the drag link some. ok maybe it will change a little bit because the stock steering sucks for being lifted... but not much. i've always gone to 1/16" to 1/8" toe combined. approaching 1/16" made it follow lines in the road, but i found 1/8" overall to be enough.

you guys would get more jeep work done if you didn't check the site every hour. that's what i've been doing. all my new control arms are in, front edelbrocks are in, coil buckets are drilled and tapped for 7/16-20 for 3 hockey pucks per side. it will give me about 3.75" of uptravel per side... i'm thinking about taking out the 7/8" coil spacer and going down to 2 hockey pucks (about 2" of bumpstopping) per side. it's hard to say right now, but it looks like the coils will certainly achieve their proclaimed ride height. but they haven't settled yet. so i'll leave it. and we'll see.

i'm going to mount the shock on the inner fender above the words "sport" (but inside the fender). should keep it pretty clear of harm's way, i hope. can't really figure out where to put them in the engine bay and the line is too long for piggy backing.

going to tie up the suspension tomorrow morning (still have to tighten the adjustable control arm jam nuts and reinstall the trac bar.) then i'm going to get seals for the D30 from napa and change the inner axle seals. i took the steering off cuz it was in my way and annoying me... so i might change the TRE at the pitman arm cuz it's been wearing out... while i have the steering off and am going to napa.

i wonder if anyone read that novel.

WAAAAAAY too much tech. STFU!!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

damnit, i just thought of something i forgot to say. and i read travis's comment and i can't remember wtf it was.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

it might have been that the JKS stuff i ordered came in. (tie rod, drag link, jam nuts, OTA TB bracket, spacers). the drag link is really short. i was expecting it to be about a foot longer than it is. they're both really beefy

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i haven't seen either.

i'm going to bed so i can get up at a decent hour and finish doing stuff to the jeep tomorrow.

i cut some of the top of the LCA bracket off for clearance of the LCA so i can get more droop... and it still just hits... so i'm thinking about taking some more out... hopefully i'll be able to do that with the LCA still in the mount. it gets old trying to get everything to line up a bunch of times

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just came upstairs. Been working straight out after a quick dinner when I got home. Lots of work accomplished, I'll put some updates up later.

you guys would get more jeep work done if you didn't check the site every hour.
But then they couldn't complain about how they can't wheel cause their stuff needs work. :gee:

I did. Sounds like you made a bunch o' progress when I'm not there distracting you with BS. :D
WAAAAAAY too much tech.
Some of us like it that way. ;)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My comanche apparently has no rear brakes. The guy replaced all the rear lines except for like a 6 inch piece that was completely rotted away. If you're looking up at it you cant see that it's rotted so maybe that's why. What gets me is no fluid leaks out it at all. None of the lines are crimped down anywhere that I can find. Hmmmmm
