Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

do it travis.

colin, cut the flares off and don't look back.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm still sliiightly kicking around the thought of just getting the lower end edelbrocks, because they'd still be an improvement over the rancho's i've got in the rear. Hell even the BDS in the front. at least i'd be stepping up to charged shocks...just that Idk if they still have anything available for my required lengths. blah. we'll see, who knows.
call them. i found them helpful and friendly when i did.

I did call them last week, on Wednesday. ****ers didn't help one bit, least not the guy i talked to  Glad you had better luck heh. I was going to order a full set with the remote rezzy's but didn't because he was no help finding anything close to what i wanted. It worked out alright though because later that day I worked out the deal for the SXs :)

I guess I'll try again today possibly. I get outta work at 3, I'll try and take my best guesses on lengths and give them a call. I figure for the cheaper ones, they could be as little as $120 all around, so if I'm able to find something that works, I should

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hmm, yeah. performer IAS shocks. if i can get a set of those for the f/r that are decently close to what i want for lengths, whatever, i'll just order them.

soo annnyway, where is everyone today? no talky talk??

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ouu, yum. hey colin, question for when ya get back. do you have the IAS performers in your jeep or the Xtreme IAS?? Just curious :)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

you suck. haha. So, I was able to get out of working on Sunday, but I do have to work 4 hours sunday night. 12am-4am not so bad though. and then I have monday off. works for me... gives me sunday and monday for jeep stuff and its supposed to be puuurdy nice out. oh wait. sunday for jeep stuff. monday for holding anthony's hand as he swaps shocks :twak:  hehe

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

damn. i really wish they had more of the universal lifted trucks remote rezzy shocks available, i'd just get ones with alot of travel, not worry about how long they are, and just cut into my floor in the rear. wouldn't bother me any...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Hmmm... I don't think your correct here with the outer shaft lengths, I remember checking all of these dimensions when I built mine, and all of the outers (Ford, Jeep, Chevy... 9.985" long...)were the same length. I'll see if I can find the info and post a link....

A.

*EDIT*

Sorry, you are correct. The Ford and early Jeep (74-76) outers are 9.72", and the Chevy and later Jeep (76-83) are 9.94".

What this breaks down to is you CAN run the 9.94" length shafts in anything, but if you have a factory shaft, the 9.72" length only works in the Ford and early Jeep hubs.

I run the 9.94" length shafts in my Ford outers.

Here is a reference page to check it out...

Well, mostly correct. All the Ford, with the exception of a few earlier F250's, were the 9 23/32.

FSJ and Chevy, with the exception of drum brakes, were 9 15/16, regardless of year. I had 9 15/16 on my '74 FSJ. (Reminds me, I need to contact Mr. N to tell him his chart is wrong.)

I know that I believe 87XJCO ran into this problem when he was building his D44.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I know that you know that you believe.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Colin you can always call Bob at Baystate about the BBs if you have trouble, he's got experience with those.

I would def. go with WJ stuff over that Smittybilt winch. I was going to get it as a beater winch but found many reviews condemning it. They said it worked to slow, would heat up quick, for every minute of use it was 5min to cool down, and breakage. Its cheap for a reason but I might try it on my trailer for the hell of it.

Be careful getting parts from tractor supply co.s, the specs are sometimes diff. then what you need. The piston might not work as quick as you need. I've heard alot of people try stuff like that and it went together fine but wasnt always quite right. Just a thought.
