THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I would def. go with WJ stuff over that Smittybilt winch. I was going to get it as a beater winch but found many reviews condemning it. They said it worked to slow, would heat up quick, for every minute of use it was 5min to cool down, and breakage. Its cheap for a reason but I might try it on my winch for the hell of it.
I read the same thing about them. I don't think I'd run one either...
you betcha :sunshine:
Stop thinking about it right now. Trust me...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Be careful getting parts from tractor supply co.s, the specs are sometimes diff. then what you need. The piston might not work as quick as you need. I've heard alot of people try stuff like that and it went together fine but wasnt always quite right. Just a thought.

thanks for the heads up! I was also looking on surpluscenter.com there seem to be decent rams for reasonable money there as well. Or I could just get the PSC stuff, ram and lines and then only need a couple fittings... Not too worried about it, just thinking "out loud"

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

And to both of ya... Don't worry. I'm not seriously considering the coilovers. I wanna wheel way too bad to dive in to a project that deep!! I don't have near the patience required haha

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Small parts are always cool to get from places like that but hard parts are better to pay the money once. A buddy of mine got me and him a hi lift jack from a farm supply, worse jack ever, both broke. I got a real Hi-lift and the things awesome.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah. Good point...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

well i found the old ubolts on the passenger rear tire on my beater YJ were very crooked. probably was smashed in by a rock/stump or something. hopefully it'll stay straight with new ones so i can kinda drive it

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Well this is my last day at work in this garage, I convinced them to send me back where I normally work. Now I can sit in my own office with nobody around and I'll have some work to do.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Travis, I have the performer IAS shocks in the back. I believe Carmelo has them on his Honcho as well. They definitely ride well. Much better than the Doestch Techs that my original 3.5" RE lift came with.

Bump, thanks for the recommendation. I thought Bob might have some experience with them, but I just used the chart from innovativebalancing.com and figured it out with my buddy. Going to put 8.4 oz in each tire.

Side note: Going to see Watchmen tonight. Maybe trim flares and get tires mounted on Sunday. Will get a poser shot for you all to laugh at :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

SO, guys... I gotta say... I'm starting to get fed up with Ballistic Fab... I ordered my parts 2 weeks ago today, and nothing has shipped. Pretty basic stuff too. DIY steering kit, coil brackets and a track bar bracket.... I've talked with them multiple times, each time with them saying that they got a little held up and everything should ship tomorrow. Not only that, but they have also said each time, that it was a different part holding up the order. First time, they changed something around with making their steering kits, which by the way shouldn't apply to me anyway-- I got the do it yourself kit... It's a couple sections of DOM, few weld in threaded bungs, and TREs, that's it... I can't see this as being a good reason. Second time, they had to cut some pieces for the coil brackets. Third time I got some crap about the trackbar bracket.

WTF.

This shit better be nice when it shows up. Sorry, I'm just getting anxious, but when I order stuff and it takes 2 weeks of BS excuses and STILL not one thing gets sent... I feel a need to vent a bit. Figured here was as good a place as any.

Cool. I'll measure a bit after work and try giving them a call. I should at least get a pair for the rear, and if they have a good set for the front I'll dive in I guess. Only thing is I really don't have much to be spending, but whatever. Won't find a deal like that for awhile so might as well.
