so for the WJ swap... i'm thinking of using 1-ton TRE and just reaming out the knuckles rather than doing the inserts to flip. i looked at the dimensions on jcr's site... and there's really no reason to not be able to come straight in from the back, other than guaranteeing straightness... hmm... thoughts....

and about the straightness, i'm sure you could set something up at your school, or bring it to a machinist and have that done cheaply enough, no?

Anthony, if you run 1 ton TRE's with the WJ knuckles the tie rod will hit the diff cover. The WJ TRE's are plenty beefy and they have a bend in them to prevent hitting the diff cover.

I just picked up the RE 5.5's today and got the 7/16 heims for my t-case linkage...also getting a Bantam trailer for fixing a neighbor's t-case on his TJ. It bangs like when you go out of 4wd every minute or so. I'm thinkin' its the chain or the linkage and it's a 231 so i know it inside and out. Now i'm gonna trailer my 35's to NACfest instead of driving there in 3rd...

there goes that thought. haha... ok. might as well order JKS stuff then. will the tie rod hit my riddler, do you think?

let me know how the tcase linkage comes out, i want to do that to mine too.

i would rather have a complete new jeep than a nice bumper on my XJ. Tow hooks will be fine.

yes, the 9" will be fixed friday evening or saturday morning.

Mine touches my Solid cover at full lock and i'm OTK with the WJ TRE's. It will definately hit with the riddler cover. The bends in the TRE's it adds another inch or 2.
