the house i lived in over the summer had one just like it. that one was used as the model. my friend made it for one of the house mates out of a old AMC v8.

so i'm looking hopefully friday afternoon at a $1500 YJ that seems to be in pretty good shape, only a few minor snafus and a $1000 commanche on saturday. having a 95 YJ would be sweet for the top/doors off thing as it's getting warmer, and having a commanche would be sweet also since... its a friggin commanche! :scottm:

well i'll probably end up with the commanche, it's looking like a better prospect than a YJ (since the YJ's 5th gear is screwed up somehow, but i'd still like to drive it)

a commanche is what you'd get basically if a ranger and a cherokee had a baby, so that would work as a parts getter pretty good too

eh whatever. I was making the point that 2 Jeeps is a slippery slope. Bill, for example, you were smart, bought a Chevy. It's an American brand, but not a Jeep.... what-ev-er, what-ev-er. haha

What year/specs on that Comanche? If it is a '90 or '91 short bed I'm going to be very very jealous.

Haha... ya I do agree it is a very short time before one will start modifying the other Jeep. Look at Mark... Although, one could then look at me, I'm still looking for the right one for Angel.
That is one of the reasons I bought the Chevy. I knew I wouldn't have any parts to modify it, thus making it much easier to resist. Other than wheels and tires, it has worked so far.

see, that's why i didnt buy the jeep i looked at last night. it was a 98 XJ with only 50k on the engine and no rust, but the control arm mount was hanging on by a thread. i couldnt have two broken jeeps, as tempting as it was

a 91 shortbed mj would be would indeed be pretty awesome. Damn it. See I'm already suggesting you lean toward a Jeep. Wow I'm a sucker for these things. It's like when I was looking for my DD... I had cash in hand to buy an Escort off a buddy of mine... 2 days later, there's another Jeep at my house. God damn it. hahaha.
