Hahah yes, I was waiting for someone to say something about that.

Oh and Bill speaking of that thread, if you don't have your Jeep done by then, and you are still looking for rides, I'm sure I wouldn't mind another couple of co-pilots.

yeppie, more parts to collect. the D30 i got off mark (8.25 goes to rob). my plan is to use pretty everything that unbolts and comes apart, leaving me with basically just the housing. i have a couple of ideas floating around.

1. cut off long side tube for a driveshaft

2. truss and gusset the hell outta it for no particular reason and maybe sell it

3. use the pinion to make a cool shifter handle for my t-case


anyone else got a cool idea of something i could make? im tryin to think what i could make with the ring gear.

why not make the pinion the tranny shifter? oh that's right... yours is auto and you don't need it as much... i'll say cold (or really hot) steel would suck though.

How is your built? I say gusset/truss it for cheap and throw it under yours. Keep yours for the spare parts.
If you want some pinions I have a junk gearsets from a D30, LP D60, and I think a LP D44 kicking around.

that thought crossed my mind too, but ive already got gears and 1/4" LCA and UCA mounts on the D30 im running. i dont really wana go through the hassle of setting them up again.

i should steal a piece of my current busted tranny to use it as the shifter for the newer one, to carry on it's legacy.

i'm still trying to figure out what to do with the old NP231 shaft i took out this weekend, since I finally got around to getting the SYE in billy's old tcase. surprisingly few snags too!

that thing is siiiick. i was watching top gear tonight and they have an engine block coffee table too, but not with pistons and shit like that one
