THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-WiFi thread

I forgot to clean the steel plate I was welding the mounting blocks for my ram to. Welds look OK I guess. If the break it be a good excuse for a bigger welder right?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-WiFi thread

Hate jeeps. Got everything on my nacfest prep list pretty much done, (thanks Bobby!) and of course now that I'm ripping into everything I have a million other problems. Crossmember bolt weld inside the frame rail broke so had to cut up the floor again and retack that, got the stinky fab trans mount in, cut some old driveshafts, sleeved them with some dom to lengthen them a couple inches, and the one that came out half decent is unbalanced and giving me some shitty vibes. took it out to mess with it and put the rear end on jackstands, and now I can hear some noise coming from the rear diff. Doesn't sound catastrophic but its there, and both wheels have a little wobble and I'm thinking its the shafts since the rims are seated to the hub fine. Still have a lot of play in the t case, its making some noise like a loose chain, and 4 part time doesn't work so ive got 2 neutrals. don't have enough time to swap it out before I go so I might just drive down without a rear shaft and only put it in for the trails. So over this shit I cant remember the last time I didn't have driveline vibes.

According to this link, the 96 pulley fits perfect.

http://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/c-bypass-pulley-71970/

Post 9 in this thread says a 95 compressor will bolt up to a 96.

http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1002588

This site lists it as 91-95.

http://www.monsterautoparts.com/JEE...air_conditioning_compressor_bypass_pulley.htm

Crown catalog lists same compressor for 94-96. I bet both of the Dorman numbers you listed will work. I'd just go with the 4 bolt bracket.

Why don't you run it down to Brookline Machine in Waltham or South Shore Bearing in Quincy in the morning and have it balanced?

Tried calling a couple shops but they all said they wouldn't balance a custom shaft. Completely forgot about brookline machine though, I'll give them a call in the morning and see if they can help out, if not I think I should be able to get down there and back in fwd. Was really hoping to pick up a spare transfer case too but I'll keep my fingers crossed on that one. This is probably such a bad idea :banghead:

Damn dude, this sucks. Sorry you're having all of that trouble with my old axles under your truck. I was driving on them pretty regularly before I sold them to that other guy.. makes me wonder what he did with them since they're giving you so many problems :confused1 Hope you get it all sorted. If you have any questions about em, just message me.

No worries man, not your fault at all I've been putting a ton of miles on them too and did a good amount of driving with a bad pinion angle which probably didn't help the tcase or the diff. I'll tear into it soon and see what I can find and definitely let you know if ive got any questions. Got the front locker to work a couple times wiggling the cable around the other day!!

No go on the driveshaft, he said he'd just make me a new 1 piece shaft but not till this afternoon/ tomorrow......hope the front shaft survives!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-WiFi thread

IT guy: "we want $2 million to replace the hvac control system for 19 schools because it is old and out dated and parts hard to find"

School board: "does it not work at all right now?"

IT: "No it still works and has not given us too many problems but if it does we are screwed?"

SB: "Whats the likelihood of it crashing and whats the backup plan?"

IT: "Unsure never has been a big issue. If it crashes than we can set the thermostats by hand"

SB: "we can talk about this next year"

Except for the fact that it's not IT, it's the chief engineer and/or operations manager (or whatever title is commonly used in education). And he doesn't usually know squat about computers and may not realize how old it is. IT is almost never involved in building systems. That's not always a good thing.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-WiFi thread

Sold out already, it seems. It was a good deal.

I bought a 10" bench grinder from a coworker but he had 8" wheels on it. I think I know why- I can't find 10's anywhere locally. McMaster, Grainger, MSC all want at least $60 for 1 wheel. Also, I never knew there was such variety available in bench grinding wheels.

Check out Grind Tools and Roark Supply, both NAXJA vendors.

Being "that guy" you mentioned above that isn't always the case. :)
At my place I am heavily involved in the building stuff as well as all the normal 'IT' work and as much as I play anti on the Internet I know a thing or two.

Variations do happen.

As you have probably mostly guessed I run the IT department for a commercial real estate firm in Los Angeles (to keep it on topic I have a property in Wellesley, MA!). I try to assist my engineering departments with making intelligent choices when it comes to building systems.

Get to drive this as my daily/tow pig for the indefinite future while my father-in-law is serving some time in the big house

2012 Hemi Ram 1500 Bighorn. Rides ****ing nice - so not used to a truck this big though...and the power delivery of the Hemi is so much different than the 4.0 lol - get almost no power until 3000 rpm then WOOSH

Thanks. Unfortunately looks like I struck out at both places according to their online inventory.
