Re: THe NAC Lost-O-Pots Thread

*Que the "right transmission" responses*

I have a manual transmission sitting in my the back of my Jeep now.

I also have a buttload of stuff to start selling if I want to get this TJ.

Re: THe NAC Lost-O-Pots Thread

So is that 1989 jeep In the FS thread get spamed? If so one of you mod guys should delete that post.

Also I am so super excited to spend another 8 hrs in a ****in safety class today.

Re: THe NAC Lost-O-Pots Thread

Jesus... overnight I have more PMs about that axle.

People are really stupid.

Oh yeah I got followed by a town cop for like 30 miles last night. I think he was so curious about what the hell was on the back of the jeep that he was waiting for me to make a silly mistake so he could stop me and ask about it... he tailed me through several towns before giving up. Yes, that means I drove 30 miles without committing a traffic infraction of any kind.

Edit: Mark, it was late as hell when I got home and I wasn't sure if you would still be awake. Tonight work?

Half of me wants to buy Bend-Tech to design out a chassis and have basically a template to build it off of (all bends/rotations/notches predefined), the other half of me wants to wing it.

What town were you in that a cop was following you for 30 miles?

Don't be stupid. You don't want to have any regrets.

Wing it.

The only thing I can see is that having never built one before, I wouldn't know what belt width/a-b pillar length/subframe height to build to. Unless I could model out my drivetrain/axles/suspension, there's not much benefit to building it in bendtech except to get the cosmetics right.

Is that yours or?

Re: THe NAC Lost-O-Pots Thread

Something my brother and I have been collecting parts for for two years now. We have most of the big ticket things already; kp60/14b, tbi350/turbo350/ORD 203-205 doubler, BADASS 40" DICK CEPEK FUN COUNTRY 1'S!

Re: THe NAC Lost-O-Pots Thread

The other rob has the updated bend tech where you can drag a point and it will adjust everything automatically. I doubt I'll be building one next year.

The 1.75 .25 wall tube I was gonna sleeve my bumpstop towers with is to much $$$, so I'll just sleeve 1.75 scrap with 1.5 scrap aka my old stinger

Re: THe NAC Lost-O-Pots Thread

I just it just be best for us to pay Travis to build us chassis.

I'm down. As long as you "pay" me via hugs of the mouth

You're not gonna know the width, pillars, etc until you sit in the thing anyway.

I don't see a whole lot of value in BendTech for a one off. Certainly not gonna save you any time, and you're still using the same manual tools regardless (when's the last time you calibrated your bender for springback). I think you'd spend more time trying to get a bend to be exactly 46.8* rather than just holding it in place and seeing if it works.

For production, sure, I get it. Not something I'm in any hurry to spend money on though.

Kind of how I was looking at it.

This is all too familiar of bending that truss tubing for my D60 at Bills.

"What do you mean you measure stuff...?"

You just bend a couple extra degrees, that's how you calibrate for spring back, your not in much of a hurry yo do anything regardless of a program either.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Man, you're right! I should totally have just built the same thing everyone else has. Then I wouldn't be wasting all this time in teleconferences, design review, and sponsorship coordination with RCV, CTM, Spidertrax, Eaton, Holley, TrailGear, BTR, Toyo...back to the junkyard and the days of trailrig bullshit I go!
