THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just had alot of fun with the small MJ, I actually wheeled all day. unlike with the big rigs every 5 min someone either brakes, gets horribly stuck, or what not, and we end up standing around for hrs cause no one has that obscure part from some custom/not stock thing.

Plus I could sell my trailer and burb(maybe, and after I fix it) for another 4-5K. that alone would pay for an XJ with mild build.

oh and I for got stiffeners in my lift of new jeep stuff.but I might be able to cut mine off my jeep before I scrap it.

oh and I could probably get 1300 for my wheels and tires.

Dude, keep it, you'll never get back what you have into it.

If you want a smaller rig I say build a beater. They aren't expensive to build.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

WHAT THE **** DID YOU JUST SAY?

I know I know. Trust me I LOVE my AX-15. I LOVE it. just ask paul him and I have spent probably over an hr talking how awesome of a trans it is.

but Lauren cant handel a 5speed, and when I would like to get her more involved with this stuff. she like it and strangely enough you guys. and I think getting her driving alittle will jet her more on board with jeep finances, and make more stuff we can do together.

I realize that. but the body is failing. its in the very early stages of what happened to sam's black XJ. and if I can get out of it the prices I listed I can still come out way ahead. and its not like Im buying a rover. Im still going to go wheeling. just smaller stuff.

I can't remember the last time this happened. (*knock on wood*). I would say it happens the same amount big or small rigs.

I would say 95% of the time we spend standing around is BSing 'cause we only all see each other a few times a year.

last time we went to F&F a guy broke an atlas yoke or something and we spent forever winching him up the hill. then we spent forever watching people get stuck on the trail thats right behind the spot where rob rolled. you rolled right before that spot I think.

I know that stuff happens. and its part of the sport. and a yoke could break even on a small rig. but it seems to happen less.

availability of parts is a big lesson I learned in Moab when My steering broke and in the wheeling mecca no one had the part. it I wasen't so good and building dumb stuff(sharkfin) I would have had to order it and have it mailed to the campground.

and I love bsing with you guys. it is half the fun. but I just miss really wheeling. plus having a rig I sunk over 20K into that gets used 2 maybe 3(if the planets aline) just doesent make sense. tow rig and trailer is more expensive then just throwing some junk in the back and going out.

Alot of it comes down to I miss being able to drive my jeep. and the stupid way I built it makes it not streat-able. and there are too many things I want to fix that it makes more sense to start again.

Im not ready right now but I just saw a 98 4door with a blown reverse gear for 600$ I could put a new trans in myself for 4-500$ that leaves me almost 4K in goodys. plus with the burb, jeep and trailer good should net me almost 17K. thats almost 12K in "profit"

and I tried to teach her, it resulted in alot of screaming and crying. it was pretty adorable.

When my jeep was running Deannas excuse was "I can't reach the pedals". Gonna fix that with some wooden blocks.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm building a big dumb jeep to run on medium dumb jeep trails. Won't break and I will look like a badass on all the obstacles.

Until my flywheel decides to explode.

Dibs on your right toes, mine don't push the throttle hard enough

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think you're making the right choice Stefan. It's crazy to have a huge Jeep that never gets used, and a tow rig and a trailer just to move it the few times a year you go wheeling. With a smaller rig you could make the short drive up to Billy's and come wheel for a weekend. You'd have twice the fun for half the price.

And Bill the only reason you don't notice that all the bigger jeeps do is break and get stuck is you only wheel once, MAYBE twice, a year. It ruins all the fun to go 10 feet every hour and only wheel one trail a day. Is a huge Jeep on one tons and 40's cool? **** yeah, no one can argue that. Is it even remotely practical, especially for Stefan who is out of work, getting married, looking to buy a house and lives 3+ hours away from wheeling that's worth it? Nope, no way, no matter how you try to spin it. I have to agree with what Mark said the other day, some things are more important, and when it's time to move on, it's time to move on.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

One tons and 40s are critical if you plan on hanging in with the dick measuring contest, unless you play the real life giant dick card

In that case Stefan needs some donut spares for his new Jeep. BAZINGA! Big dick joke!

Anyone else think the HF advertising guys are laughing hilariously when they put "no overnight waiting" on the sales circulars?
