THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That would be funny Adam cept I've been dd'ing it without issue. Cept it doesn't have an inspection sticker but that has more to do with me being lazy. And it doesn't "need" exhaust work I just wanna run it out in fort of the rear tire.

You will never have my approval until you buy a 5 ton, break it, and then let it sit in your driveway unregistered for five years.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My stupid truck needs a fuel pump. Ross is going to help me lift the bed off with a crane though so it's all good.

Hey, your dumb truck is internal slave right?

If I can live with a dumb Internal slave I can find one of those 4500's from bellhousing to output and will essentially have a drivetrain from a newer 2500/3500 with no high dollar conversion parts and all OEM clutch pieces. I'll just have an np205 slapped on the back.

If it all came from the factory like that it shouldn't blow up on my feet right?

I'm just looking for a more cost effective way out.

My truck drives fine too. I don't "need" low range

I had an internal slave on my XJ forever, including with the NV4500. No biggie.

If you're worried about it, just put a trans blanket over it or something rather than a $$ bellhousing.

Yep. The only weird thing about my NV4500 is that it doesn't have an output seal. It had a gasket for the 6-bolt flange and used the transfer case input seal to separate the transmission fluid from the transfer case fluid. It isn't an issue as long as your NP205 has a good input seal.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I would still get a blowproof bellhousing, you are going to be pretty pissed if that happens again and still ruins everything, but doesn't risk your feet this time.

Don't see one available for a chevy 4500 but I may be using the wrong search terms.

Yea my NV4500 bellhousing is aluminum. I doubt there is a company that makes a blowproof internal slave bellhousing. I guarantee you can buy an external slave bellhousing and just run the hose through the hole for the fork. Or just swap to an external slave slave.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Try calling Lakewood. I think I told you that before?

I'd be amazed if they couldn't put one together for a similar price as something else.

Mine was two pieces just welded together. The trans side plate (like 1/2" thick) and the spun bellhousing side (about 1/4" thick).

I'm sure they will custom make one seeing that they offer housings for that trans and that engine (just not both) but still $$$. Looks like I could get one of those 4500's for about 900-1200 from bell housing to output shaft on a normal day. That plus a gm flywheel and clutch kit and I would hope I'm good to go lol.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

How much will it cost you to put the whole damn thing back together... again?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

No, I mean if it explodes again.

What I'm saying is that after blowing it up once, I probably wouldn't put it back together again the same way, even with a scatter shield. You've been out of the game for what, a year? Buying parts and putting it back together, do you want to do that again if this one blows too?
