Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Cordless grinder is quite literally the best thing ever if you need to pull a d60 at the junkyard.

I can walk in with a utility knife, a pair of wrenches for the shock bolts, my cordless angle grinder, a 12mm gearwrench, and my high lift and drag the axle out from under the van it came from 20 minutes later.
if you have a cordless grinder why the **** are you unbolting shit

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Busy for a few days and I miss 16 pages. Crap you guys talk a lot! Anyone coming to winterfest? Registration is open and if you register before feb 24th you get to camp for free and get entered to win a brand new 8,000 warn winch. So who's getting white girl wasted with me? I'm brining my homemade apple pie shine.

What brand? I wanted to get one for the jy and trail. I use makitia so id get that one to keep the same lithium ion batteries as my impact driver, drill, and sawzal. I think the grinder is $99. I love my plug in makitia grinder in the shop.

I don't have enough batteries to be sure I'll make it through the U-bolts and ebrake cables, and some of the vans have aluminum driveshafts that really suck to try and grind through. So I bring the wrenches just in case.

Maybe, but almost certainly not. Still pretty shaky financially.

Ryobi, I love the tool but hate their batteries and hate their shitty warranty weasel behavior so I won't be buying them or recommending them to anyone.

You've got the right idea IMO, buy the tool that goes with the rest of your battery stuff.

I'm putting in the vacation request tomorrow, but it's iffy considering how much time I've missed over the past few months being hurt. Fingers crossed!

When are we starting a pool on what Pat will break at WF14?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Unless you actually *need* the functionality of a cordless sawzall, I'd just spend the same amount on a corded one and get a beefier saw. Battery life generally brings the suck.

I don't know if they changed it or not but in the past I've had shitty luck with that lever action blade release on the Dewalt saws. Sucks when the rest of the saw far outlasts the blade holder.

I use the Dewalt cordless sawzalls daily at work...in addition to all the other tools as well, and they are handled rough for sure..never had a problem with the lever, you just have to oil it once in a while...that said, the old battery sawzalls just plain suck because of the contact design on the trigger mechanism...they now make them with the slide contact for the 20v li-ion, which should rectify that problem. I run the 20 volt cordless drill and impact gun a lot, and they have balls to spare, the drill gave me 14 stitches in my right hand when it fetched up in a wooden stud and drove it into a cut copper line. It rarely needs recharge, great tool, even covered in dried blood.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Any of you guys (Carmelo, Chris, Bill probably)ever see our use scotchman machines? We recently got a 65 ton model at work. It looks like it would be a godsend for making parts for vehicles or general Diy use on loose tolerance parts. Punch, shear, press brake all in one. The 65 ton can shear a 24" wide section of 1/4" steel or a 6" wide section of 1" plate. There are dies available for shearing angle iron, or pretty much any shape you want too. The smaller models can be found used for a few grand. Maybe some day.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

it aint out yet, ive herd nothing but great about it

That's because it's about F1, not Nascar.

I liked it but it seemed too kind of breeze over certain points. I think it needed to go into more detail.

Depends on if he participates in "Barbie jeep" racing. If say either was the likely hood of personal breakage is good. You know how the camp fire gets ken.

Wouldn't be the first time pat breaks a bone rolling down a hill in or on a piece if rolling plastic at a Naxja event...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Place I wanted to go for inspection is only by appointment so I said eff it and went to a local place.

Failed me for excessive rust on door and non working fog lights.

Shot the shit with one of the managers, he loves my jeep, told me to come back next week and he'd pass me lol.
