Stefan, I struck out on 8.8s. They had two 4.10 opens but both were horrifically rusted, like, the section under that part number sticker ford likes to wrap around the tube just inboard of the passenger leaf perch had a 1/4" thick band of rust around it, and when I scraped that off, the pits were 1/8" deep into the tube. I wouldn't bother pulling that to sell to my worst enemy, nevermind to use myself or send to a friend. I'll keep my eye out - are you coming to F&F in two weeks or should I plan on running it down to you?
There are probably other materials that have a melting point higher than that, but I was too lazy to look them up and had a hunch diamond would fit the bill.

I can't shift with no clutch to save my life, but I generally get out of gear without the clutch, revmatch, then clutch in for the shift into gear.It's simple.
Right foot doesn't go down until the left foot is all the way up; then it's party on.
Rev match downshifts, I rarely even use the clutch for that.
If it smells bad, you're doing it wrong.

sure we can. Diamond melts at 3550C, tungsten at 3422C. Not much of a margin, but I'll take it :looney:

Psh if that's all I have to do to get one...
Just finished loading/prepping with Danny Richard Program for the night. All that's left to do tomorrow is throw some shit in the truck and skedaddle. We were having a bitch of a time with the Jeep on the trailer, we couldn't get it far enough forward to get the fender off of the right rear tire. It turns out that even though they are all labeled at 205/75D14's, that tire was at least an inch bigger. We swapped the spare on and BOOM let's go to PA kids.
Psh if that's all I have to do to get one...
