Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ken, you get to the JY this week? Is that ZJ there?
First day I tried to go it started snowing. Same with second day. Today it started raining when I planned on leaving.

I have my hopes up for tomorrow, because I have a list of requests plus shit I need as long as my arm and it's not pulling itself.

It's a $10 way to try and put off buying a Telecaster for a little while longer.

The bridge pickup is a Seymour Duncan TB-4 Trembucker which reportedly splits pretty well; just trying to get a closer approximation to that in-between Stratty kinda sound.

This worked out really well actually. Definitely adds a twangy/brighter sound to the bridge pickup selections. I used it quite a bit at practice yesterday and it's a nice thing to have. Plus my volume knob doesn't crackle when you turn it anymore.

Played 6 different Teles at the store two days ago and I think it's still something I'd like to add to my collection, but having the coil split is good enough for now. Got other things to spend money on.

I just bought the first new piece of gear for my guitar rig in over 5 years I think, maybe longer.

My little up/down foot selector for my rack FX unit was starting to act up and it annoyed me. This thing doesn't do anything on its own, but it'll work with my rack unit and has amp channel switching capability too, which you can program into the different presets. So one button can changes patches on my FX unit and change the amp channel/reverb at the same time.

I like being behind the curve on technology, because by the time I come across something 'cool', it's already ancient and cheap.

My rack unit is from 1996 (Boss GX700), I bought my primary guitar in 1998 (Jackson USA Soloist SL1), I bought my primary amp in 1997 (Ampeg VH140C), and my acoustic has been in the family since 1968 and was the first guitar I ever played. I fear change. :dunce:

But I'll still put any of it up against the newest/most modern amps & effects out there. **** that 'modeling' bullshit...

This worked out well too! Just got everything programmed and ready to go for our show on Saturday.

I also tried running the bass cabinet in the background in parallel with the speakers in my Ampeg, and it worked really well. ****in loud.

quick update for the 2 people in this thread who might have any idea what I'm talking about

My phone is working, yeah. Give me a ring about an hour before you expect to be there and I'll probably get there around the same time you do.

Scared off no.
(maybe a little)
God do I need a strat. I also really really like the sound of a good guitar amp played threw a bass cabinet.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Agreed. They left Blue Holes (basically water filled sinkholes) completely out of it though. I bet Mark knows of the one (well really, there are a lot of them, but this one's famous) in Belize, it's apparently somewhat of a well known diving destination.

People who fall in don't tend to come back out. Divers have a blast though. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Blue_Hole

It's not the most versatile thing in the world, but it's got a cool tone. A few examples I did:

And the Ampeg:

And the little Univox combo underneath the Epi head:

I found that amp in the trunk of a junk car at a salvage yard. :)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That solo in the second clip with the epi tube head is amazingly well played
