Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

try a XJ with a stick shift. It's pretty amazing driving to work every day

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Every xj i had was governed at well before that. Your jeeps are magic.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I checked with GPS else I wouldn't have believed it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I took my stock red 2-door to at least 100 mph coming back from providence one night about 6-7 years ago (the speedo needle was wrapping back around).

I hit that stupid S-curve with all the warnings going that fast. All with a busted sway bar end link.

One of the tires definitely came off the ground, it got squirrely as ****, so I backed it down to a comfortable 80 mph cruise home.

I pretty much shit my pants.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Which S-curve? I'm pretty sure Kyle shit his pants riding shotgun with me to one of those providence meetups, we were doing at least 80 most of the way on 146.

That was a few weekends before I discovered my white XJ had terminal cancer instead of just a few rust holes, in fact I remember joking that the carpet was the only thing holding the pile of nuts and bolts in the trunk inside  that thing was such a piece of shit.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I've gone as fast as a cherokee will go before the engine shuts itself off in my '99. The next time you guys go to the 99, as you're driving down 138, realize i've done 100mph down it all the way to boston, in the breakdown lane.

Did I mention my insurance JUST went down from all this shit.

Shit his pants going 80? I got this sweet ticket once, for going 90 in a 25:sad1:.

I'm just posting this stuff before Bob logs in and makes all of us feel responsible.

I went skydriving every day on my way to and from work for most of a year in one of those zones... no tickets. 80 in a 25 twice a day :eyes:

Not much air, the steering would drop out and the RPMs would spike but I doubt I was more than 6-12" off the ground.

I fortunately stopped doing stupid shit like that before I ever got ticketed for it. Now I only drive like that in the woods.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have generally matured on the road. I think I just learned where I can drive like an asshole and get away with it, and where I can't.

I'm just genuinely afraid of getting pulled over, same affect.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Also, I lied a bit. I only drive like an inflamed asshole when I know I'm within easy range of a class 6 road I can disappear down if I blow by a cop at the speed of light.

(so basically what Sam said)

I look forward to the Ken Stein episode of Cops

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

speaking of 7.3s and rust, if you do go look at it be sure to look at the oil pan.

Yeah, I want one that's rusted out, that way I can jack the cab off the frame to replace it. Always fun.

I'm not dead set on a Ford, I've been seriously considering a Dodge like Colin's lately. They're stupid reliable, about the same price, and get about the same mileage. Plus there's that Cummins specific dealer in NY DB Dave told me about, they've got a lot of CLEAN southern trucks. This pains me to say, as I've always been a blue oval guy.

I used to have to drive a 7.3, it was poopy. Now I have to drive a 6.4, it is also poopy but has a better auto***got. Dont get me started on the 7.3 in the DT444 we have as well, total dog.

7.3's certainly aren't racecars, but they're not bad to drive. I drove one everyday for work and liked it, it towed really well, and that thing was beat to shit. It had been wrecked twice, once being a rollover, and it still ran and drove fine.

I've had my 02' F350 w the 7.3 for the last 3 years and I love the truck. The only problem I've had other then wear items is the rust/rot in typical spots(cab corners and wheel well). I'm actually thinking of putting it up for sale in the next week to snag an Excursion w a 7.3.

Details? I'm seriousbusinessface over here, so shoot me a PM whenever.

everytime I hop in an xj I feel invincible. I havent driven too many cars to thier limits, but XJ's just seem to fit me so well.

I want another one.

Wanna buy my '99 for $1000? Freal.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just boarded a 737 to Reno and this ****er is EMPTY. Like everyone not only has their own set of seats, but their own friggin aisle. If there's 40 people on here I'd be surprised. Kind of a weird feeling.

Oh well...I'll just strew my shit everywhere and be comfortable.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

is it gay?

Am I?

It's got 157k, needs tires and rear springs, probably shocks. It has some dents in the right rear corner from when the guy before Dave had it, and it got hit. He sorta fixed it, but it's not perfect by any means. I have everything to lift it 3.5", which would fix all the blown suspension shit, but I lost motivation and really want a truck. I'd throw the leaves, springs, shocks, trackbar, HD tierod, and Ravines in for $1500 total.

NO!! do not go to that guy, he is lying sack of shit. ive seen a few people that got screwed over by him with one of his "clean" trucks. not to mention he has the highest priced CTD's in the country. theres a recent thread on cumminsforum about a guy that paid $20k for a 24v that has tons of problems.

are you set on a 24v like colins or would you mind a 12v like mine? theres a coulpe decent 12ers around here ive been seeing. are yoy dead set on a manual too?
