THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I don't get why people think that overpaying on taxes is worse.

Giving your hard earned money to the government for a year, interest free, where it would be doing more good in a bank account acruing interest, or in a retirement fund... :dunno:

Besides the fact that I'd just like to have the money in the first place, in the form of less deductions from my paycheck every two weeks.

If I'm the kind of person that likes the idea of setting aside a portion of that check every pay period, to be given back to me in the form of a perceived 'bonus' or windfall once a year, I'd rather put it in an interest-earning account that I control.

I just see no advantage to overpaying, I guess...actually only disadvantages IMO.

According to the statement I just got my retirement fund is basically interest free. :( Mandated out of my check so I have no option, but I guess that's a good thing.

I'm with you though, besides credits for things like student loans, house buying, dependents, etc, I don't get those who think huge tax refunds are awesome. If you are getting a large amount because of what gets taken out of your check every week cut it down.

I'd probably get $1 for the interest that would get me

I only put enough into my 401k that my company matches. A ton of people lost huge amounts of money on that recently, so why bother?

I don't know it just doesn't seem like a big deal to me.

I don't look at it as some bonus or something. More or less like another savings account and I don't have to worry about whether or not I should save money to pay taxes.

Meh, phone interview didn't sound very promising. I'm meeting him in person on Saturday at a job fair but I'm not holding my breath.

Oh well.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

there are no longer any walls in the castle room. That was fun.

Soon as I haul the bagged waste out of there and vacuum up the dust I can start tearing up the floor+subfloor and putting down new subflooring. This is gonna be awesome, living like an almost normal person again (i.e. in a clean-ish room with a bed.)

i view it as a way to the goverment to boost the economoy from the people who think that it is a bonus and just splurge that money on something they dont need

yes it is nice to get get money back when you over pay, i will just put it in the bank with the rest of my money and forget that i have this money. Would much rather it just be corrected at the source when the taxes are taken out rather than my tax money being spent on getting my money back that i over spent on taxes

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Did you cut the stub off, cut the tube down, then reweld? Did you check runout?

I bet if you cut two stock XJ front shafts in the tube (leave the ends welded) and slug it with some 1.75x.120 wall DOM you'd have a pretty straight driveshaft.

Worst case is you pay hundreds less to just have them balance a shaft instead of building one.

Got some tube? If so I'll give it a shot, I already have the u-joints to rebuild a stock shaft.

EDIT: Nevermind, just called Carolina Driveline, $150 shipped to my door with a 1310 CV and a 1330 at the axle. BOOM KID DONE.

Worst dive ever.

About 1 foot of visibility, due to all the crap in the water.

I regret that decision. I will be hurting tomorrow.

My brothers 8.75 gearset in his roadrunner has .020" backlash. Found the clunk.

His pinion angle is pointed up 2.5 degrees. Found the vibration.

Gonna help him gear it in a few weeks.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I opened the door to my Vw last night for the first time in probably 2 months. Something HAS to be dead inside. Worst smell ever. Why can't i find rental CAR upholstery cleaning machines? like a bistel steam clean or some crap. ugh it was horrid.
