this is what I am super afraid of having happen to me. Lord help me if I ever need spares/replacements and can't remember what the hell I used.

Time to check some parts prices. I wish I'd bought that J20 axle now :dunce: guess I better wait a few more years till I happen to see one at the JY again. Either that, or figure out the Ford stuff.

I checked the prices on Reid parts and there aint no way in hell I am paying that kind of price, no matter how easy it makes my life.

Like I said, i'll have one for sale soon. 1/2" thick tubes and all that jazz. Only thing lame is the gearing.

So in response to twodoorxjs thread, I remember talking about putting a ram on my diff cover like two years ago, but anthony and chris said that its a bad idea with Countersunk bolts because you don't have much metal where the bolt passes through or some shit.

my front is all 78 F250HD. thats easy. rear calipers are waggy fronts, pads are LT1 police package caprice. the rotors? some ford rotor. i'm XXXXed on that one, they were on the axle when i bought it. the rest of the axle is drum E250 35 spline c-clip.. converted to disc.

77 f150 front, 94 Cherokee rear with 95 grand Cherokee brakes. Simple

i like trying to keep things as simple as possible.

kinda sucks having parts from 91 different vehicles on my jeep, but i have it all written down somewhere.

I have brake parts from all these different cars on my Jeep, I don't think its that hard to remember where they came from. I might not have a part number for each piece, but I can go to a store and tell them where every piece came from so they can look up a part number on their computers. Don't always see the need to walk around with part numbers when its usually their job to look it up for you.

I agree that they can look it up for you but it's almost just as easy to record a P/N. If you're worried about forgetting what vehicle some part on your Jeep came from you record it in a notebook.. that's fine. But why not just write the P/N down too?

I got front XJ stuff, rear axle from a tornio, and rear disk rakes from a crown vic. can't remember if it's the newer or older style crown vic stuff though... I think it's the early '90s model since brake parts were cheaper for those, but I have it recorded in an email somewhere so I can look it up when needed.
