THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I liked the beach when I had a girlfriend to go with. Going with a bunch of dudes is kinda lastara
And now I have jeeps to fix and a house to fix and future plans to get off the ground, so no real time.

I thought you lived like 1.5 hours from the rents place - if it's only a 45min to an hour I guess that makes sense.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

1.25ish hours.

Driving with a bunch of friends (both guys and girls) out onto the beach and hanging there in the nice cold water on wicked hot days = awesome.

I don't know, I just don't understand how people can't like the beach.

It's a blast, though I usually return to my engineer roots and play civil engineer for a day... I've made some pretty deep holes / tunnels etc.

I wish I had time for that shit. Maybe this summer I will, if I finish the house in time and either don't have a job, or get a job that doesn't steal all my time from me.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I might take you up on this, as long as it isn't covered in poison ivy...

I spent last week at work clearing 1/2 acre of it, didnt get it from my parents house

I can think of a shitload of better things to do than drive to the beach and watch a ton of half naked people who should stay fully clothed and just staring at a large area of water for hours at a time

Good work

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Do any of you guys (particularly you guys in East/South East MA) have a spare passenger side D30 knuckle you want to get rid of, preferably cheap?

Was driving the Jeep back to my place yesterday and got some death wobble again. My buddy was driving in front of me and apparently it's my front passenger side tire which "looked like it was going to fall off". I'm guessing it's either old/shot ball joints or that I effed up reaming that knuckle.

I'll be doing ball joints next weekend since I'm probably due to replace those soon anyway but figure having an extra knuckle on hand in case my reaming is bad would be a good idea.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I love the beach, and I can wait to take the bike this summer.

I know a bunch of people aren't big fans. Travis hates it.

Like Colin can't understand how everyone doesn't think about wheeling every second of their life and only want to work on jeeps/go wheeling. I don't understand how people don't like the beach. Its the beach, and the ocean, its an awesome place to go on a hot summer day.

I'm not saying I'm one of those people who are complete beach addicts who need to spend every waking second on the public beaches with all the tourists like some people I knew back in highschool. The beach I'm talking about you can drive out onto in your 4 wheel drive, set up shop with your friends and drink some cold beers. Bring out a Frisbee, some beach boccee ball, cornhole, you name it and just sit there and relax. If its too hot, go dunk in the ice cold refreshing water. Getting dark? No problem, you can set up a bonfire and hang out there for most of the night.

I don't truly hate it... but you love it, and it's fun to say I hate it because you love it :eeks1:

I used to love the ocean/beach but through my childhood and far into my teenage year my family went to a beach house on the cape for 2 weeks each summer. Yeah it was fun but somewhere around age 15-17 I got a bit burnt out on the ocean. Then I went to college and started working the summers so I stopped going to the cape for vacations with the family (though they still go most every year)

I spent so many full weeks on the beach as a kid I kinda lost interest. Now that I'm older I may have a new-found interest but I'm not entirely sure yet.

This is the only time I like going to the beach, when it's a day like this. Problem with my friends is that I never know if it's going to be a day like this or a day where most of the people just want to lay around all day. Instead of taking the risk I usually just opt to stay at my folks place where I have a house if I want anything, a pool, a nice lawn for frisbee/boccee/cornhole, plenty of beer, and grills/smoker/etc for food and invite friends over if they want to hang out.

Its cool, not everyone shares the same mentality for it. I'm also sure its different if you didn't grow up on some place like the cape, where the beach is one of the main things to do down here. I do live literally just over 1 mile to the beach that we always go to.

For two straight summers I was on the beach almost every day of the summer. I worked at the beach, then usually spent my days off their too. Still go back.

This is the only time I like going to the beach, when it's a day like this. My friends are usually at the beach before me, getting there sometimes at 8am to ensure we have a space.
