Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

One of the guys I work with has a cousin who builds race cars and shit, and builds roll cages inside of them. Said he would charge me $500 installed, including materials, I'm gonna check out some of his work and consider it.

FML

I finished the assembling the 60. Got the PS shaft all clearanced up and the entire PS outer all done. Just as I'm tightening the flanges on, I remembered I forgot to torque the spindle nuts down.

I could get to mine through the slots in the rotor hat. Might be worth trying.

Alright, cool. That's what I thought.

Ended up getting the two CPS wiring harnesses spliced together and working so that's good to get me rolling. I tried JB welding a set screw into the old stripped out bleeder screw so I'll know if that worked tomorrow or the day after, then it's just a matter of putting the shifter back on and filling shit up and I'm done until I drop the trans again to properly fix the CPS situation. About XXXXing time. :laugh3:
cool! How the hell did you strip that bleeder though? On mine it is threaded into plastic...

Aperently xj hoods are glued together
yup. Spotwelds would make it way harder to get a good surface finish on it.

Harbor freight composite ratchets kick dick.
I've twisted the square drive off more than one. They are good for about 8c a pound at the scrapyard though.

maybe, we'll see

have you EVER wheeled with anyone from this forum?
 though it was just a XXXXaround day in the woods...

I drove the MJ to NYC again. So much nicer now that it has a good downpipe. We measured the noise level last week and it was literally louder than the twinprop cessna we normally fly down.

How the hell did you twist the square drive off of it? I've laid into the 1/2" and 3/8" drive with all I had multiple times. You must not have been fully engaged into the socket?

It was threaded into plastic... It was just rusted bad enough that a hex key just spun in it. I kept throwing larger and larger keys in and stripped the hole out more and more until one finally stuck enough to back the bleeder out. Now I'm hoping that either A) the new slave isn't drilled through and doesn't require a bleeder in the first place or B) my hack-job fix works well enough to let me bleed it out once and then forget about it for another year or two.

My craftsman wratchets work mint, even after working with them at my job for 3 years.

I do take them apart, clean them, and re-assemble them with grease upon purchase though. The things that kill them is use in a stupid way and rust.
