Before I got to the second line of Colin's post, I was just trying to figure out how Colin was going to use it on his MJ.

And hey Mr. VW, you don't have any grounds to poke fun at driving a new car over a Jeep.

yea lol i think id trade hate for hate for more than twice the salary. job hunting SUCKS.. i landed what i have now through a friend of a friend. before that i was full time sending out resumes... not just on LI, but CO,UT,NM,AZ,NV...

Same here, was applying everywhere and the only responses I got to my applications were from jobs that I couldn't take due to shitty situations.

I applied for months and literally days after I paid my bills and drained the last of my savings account (money I had saved with plans to buy a new motorcycle in the spring) I got a text from an old coworker who asked if I was still job hunting and put me in line for my current job. I was planning on going to visit a recruiter the following week but (obviously) I ended up getting this job and starting a week later.

Damn Ken... I hate my job and I make nowhere near 6 figures... I'll trade :laugh:

And yeah, I spent some time over the weekend digging up and starting to update my resume. Hopefully I have better luck landing a job this time around compared to back in '08 when I sent out resumes and made phone calls 8 hours a day, 5 days per week for 2 months straight with no luck. After that reached the end of the line and literally couldn't find any other jobs to apply to so I just gave up and spent like 5-10 hours per week applying to jobs.

Speaking of sending out resumes my boss just walked in. I kinda feel like I should let him know I'm job hunting so he can prepare to get a replacement for me... at the same time I don't think I'm going to do that so he doesn't find a replacement for me until I'm ready to leave.

1. Hope you like 12 hour days, having your boss think he runs your life, his mood changing daily hourly or worse, getting yelled at for doing things one way and then yelled at for doing it the other way an hour later. Micromanaging at a molecular level from someone who doesn't know how to do the job, then being blamed when it doesn't work. Constant changing ofthe plan of attack because its not working fast enough, so clearly changing the plan and starting over will make it work faster. Stress and frustration on a level you have never felt before. Living in a hotel 5 days a week and not seeing anyone outside of work for months. No vacation days unless you fight for em, and he will conveniently forget about them and ask what got done today at 3pm on a vacation day. I nearly ended up working the weekend of new years on a few hours notice and almost had to work the day after christmas, which would have meant skipping christmas dinner with the family.

It ain't worth it. Unless you WANT to be a slave.

But hey, if my "this life is not worth any money you can throw at me, I will be working from home 3 days a week as originally agreed, if that is not ok I am quitting" discussion goes badly, I will be more than willing to supply you with an express ticket to hell if you say you want it.

On one had that sounds like it would suck. On the other hand I'd be making a lot more than I do now and would have no time to spend said money so I'd stop blowing my savings on car parts.

Oh, since you clearly don't know the proper terms for anything (sleeve it with plate and plating something with a sleeve.:looser it is called "turning." You'll be "turning" a piece on your lathe.

Its been a while since I turned something.
