edit: and it was because the XXXXing Ford Bronco we were driving cross-country crapped out its ignition module and we barely coasted into the parking lot of Winslow Auto Parts. XXXX Fords.

I have as well. The thermostat housing was leaking on us. A homeless guy gave us the idea of using a swimming pool ball as a gasket.

Que that "optimajim" guy that seems to pop up in every thread once the optima name is dropped. :laugh:

Agreed, used to be good. I've still got on of the older USA made ones that sits on a 'smart' trickle charge for backup of our propane fireplace fans if we loose power. It was in 3 Jeeps prior to that. I wouldn't trust one now, nor would I pay the overly inflated price for them. Had a friend (some of you've met him) that ran one for all of 4 months in a DD F150 before it crapped out. The Sears Platinum/Odessey seem to be much better.

Surely not Jack and his harder friends, but Bud & Wat get along with me pretty good.

I just got the greatest news ever :party:

My work is combining personal time (floating holidays), vacation, and sick time into a single PTO account... so now my 2+ weeks of accrued sick time is effectively added to my vacation time bank and I can cash it out for cash money.

I effectively just went from having 2 weeks of accrued vacation time to having 5 weeks of accrued vacation time. :D:D:D

edit: AND instead of getting an extra week of vacation every 5 years we now get an extra day of vacation each year we work... so I get an extra 2-3 days of vacation per year.

edit2: Damnit, I missed that last line of the email... my two weeks of pre-accrued sick time won't be added to my vacation bank... it's only future sick time that gets added to the vacation account. That said I have 2 weeks of saved sick time that I get to use whenever I'm sick before I have to start tapping into my "PTO/Vacation/Sick" account

I have the box set of the back to the futures.

I decided today that I'm probably not going to build a Jeep for a while. I don't have unlimited amount of time for everything, and I really want to get into more certifications for scuba diving this spring/summer, so I'm probably going to be diving more than wrenching.


Plus I keep working and my bank account seems to to keep remaining the same, and not increasing. No money for Jeeps.
