THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Make sure you're pushing them in the right direction. When i did mine, on the first side I tried to press the lower one "up", had the press almost sprung (OTC Press) with an acetylene torch on the knuckle, beating it with a sledge hammer. When I backed off the press the lower ball joint fell out the bottom. I put the new one in and clamped it in place, ran a fillet weld around the top to hold it in. That was probably 60K miles ago, so far so good but I'm dreading changing it again.

oem tech kinda makes my head hurt

QFT

And I wouldn't mind being back in SoCal right about now. Hopefully this week will be pretty dead so I can get out of here early. Hell, hopefully I can avoid showing up at the office all together on Friday.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Oh hey so I never read any of the boot conversations that were on here before so..

Is there anything especially shitty about wearing Tim pros when it's cold out? My feet have never been warm in them. My feet felt like cinderblocks after a few hours outside yesterday. Are those rubber winter boots a lot better? My dad has an old pair at the shop. Are there some super crazy warm socks I should buy? Now that's getting cold out I feel less likely to get stabbed in roxbury since less people are out. So I'll be spending alot of time in the cold.

I just double up on socks in mine. You can get warmer socks. I have a pair, haven't used them yet though.

But yeah they aren't very warm.

I have Tim pros (steel toe, not sure if they are all steel toe) and yeah, they aren't all that warm at all. Last year I got some heavy weight winter hunting socks and they did the trick. I went on a 2 hour hike through 2+ feet of snow including mud & water crossings and stayed perfectly warm. Idk what brand they are but I got them on one of those "one deal per day" sites, they kick ass. I'll have to dig them out when I get home now that I'm thinking about it.

Yeah those are the socks I'm talking about.

Mine were "Wigwam" or something.
