THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My brain is so fried, I don't know what I'm doing right now. I can't think. This is bad.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Well last night was... long. Ended up on email/working until 1AM. I let myself hit snooze a couple extra times this morning to make up for it. Still a bit tired.

Oh well, at least it was productive too. My buddy who got t-boned earlier this week still has no car until insurance gets their ass in gear and gets him his rental vehicle, so he is borrowing the Mustang for the day to get to work. I spent an hour or two last night getting the Jeep ready so I could drive it today before I got sucked into work stuff for the rest of the night. Bled out the clutch, checked the steering, and a few other things... then I forgot to close the door all the way after I finished working and my seat was soaked this morning

On a plus side (I think it's a plus) my steering slop is mysteriously gone. And I had my buddy turn the wheel while I watched the steering box and it seems there is a slight bit of play in the input shaft before the sector shaft starts moving (not much but it didn't seem to respond immediately) so I might try and look into that.

Chris I thought you didn't like eggs?

I think I've stated it before, but breakfast burritos are my only exception to that rule. There's enough other stuff going on - especially with hot sauce - that I can usually get past it.

Although if I happen to look at my next bite and see an above average amount of egg, I'll definitely scoop it out.

Eating a breakfast burrito with chipotle tortilla wrap, eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, extra bacon, chopped peppers, hot sauce, and shredded cheddar cheese.

be jealous.

I am, all I have is a ham egg and cheese croissant

That's exactly how I am with [raw] tomato... I can stand it (even enjoy it) if it's on a sandwich or burger or whatever but if I see too much in the next bite I will remove it. And I mean raw like: fresh cut, not in sauce, etc.... because I love chunky tomato sauces, salsa, etc.

I hadn't seen that first of those two pics  Yet I kinda feel like an ass for laughing at that.

And I am jealous, I got a coffee and a lemon poppy seed muffin. Delicious but not quite in the same category of awesome as a breakfast burrito would be.

Me too.

Come up with something for us to argue about.

I'll just throw some topics out there. And yes all of them have to do with my MJ since that's what I usually think about.

1. Where should I mount my gauges when I built my dash/console. I've seen some guys mount them in the middle, others mount them like the factory directly in front of them. I'm leaning towards the middle.

2. I spoke with a vendor at Carlisle last year about clutchs/pp/flywheels about my setup (440, 11/12" flywheel, 400-500 HP). He suggested some kind of mix match of crap. I'm thinking about just getting a kevlar clutch and calling it good. My father and his friends always just went to parts stores and got stock replacement clutchs.

3. How well do you think an NP435 will hold up to 4-500 HP. I've read guys doing truck pulls with them and not having problems.

4. Trying to think of how to avoid lowering my crossmember/redoing my links. Probably just going to have to redo it all anyway.

5. Write out a simple process for how to bend tube, especially in multiple planes. I can handle simple bends just fine I'm sure.

6. How does 2" downpipes to a 3" exhaust sound for 4-500 HP?

7. Any ideas on a fan setup? I might just try a taurus fan and build a shroud for it.

That's all I can think of at the moment. Less arguing there though, and more just information/advice I'd like to hear. Who knows, I like arguing so it could turn out that way :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i have a better argument... whats your favorite position?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'd keep the tach/speedo in relatively stock locations. The rest of the gauges can go wherever. If you have enough dash space in the stock location to "comfortably" fit all of the gauges why not there? That leaves the center of the dash open to switches, LEDs, radios, and other stuff.

And I have one of those 2-speed taurus fans if you want to borrow it for mock up or whatever. I'll eventually be using it myself but my fan clutch hasn't completely shit the bed so far so I haven't needed to swap out the mechanical fan just yet...
