THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Adam convinced me to put a set of Profender airbumps up front. He said Prothanes would be lame.
Quit thinking about building up red jeep, because there is no way you're ever actually going to finish black Jeep.

And damn you, Chris I want the ram. :)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So I have a feeling I'm going to have to raise the 440 up to get the exhaust to clear the frame rails which means hacking out the transmission tunnel (well...what's left of it anyway ).

That's also going to worsen my front driveshaft angle. Gonna have to call HAD on that one. I'm guessing some kind of 40º double cardan would be required.

I want to do a custom dash/center console at the same time.

XXXX my list keeps growing.

sounds expensive

prothanes suck dick

Exotic, expensive driveshaft parts scare me. Your shit is bad enough now.

Put something clockable in there and be happy.

.

fo serious.

i break a shaft. and it will cost me $25 to replace. thats why i like my stockish setup.

I believe so. Call there and ask for Lance, and tell him you raced with me and want them to do whatever it was they did to vetteboy's XJ box. Bonus points for mentioning the bent sector shaft. :D

Would you be interested in my old ram & hoses? I might use the box again but I doubt I'll be able to use those. Ram is 1.5" bore, 1" shaft (beefier than the 3/4" most people use), internally limited to 7.5" travel, and I cut, rotated, and rewelded the fixed end so the ports point up.

Werd. And yea, if Ross doesn't, he needs it more than me id assume. And I have no idea if 7.5 is what I need but I'm fullwidth so....

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I looked at that 2.5RS yesterday. Looks good aside from a couple dents, it needs a new center console lid, the clutch pedal needs to be greased and maybe needs a new spring or something, and the timing belt/head gaskets haven't been done. The dude will go to $4,300, which means it'll end up costing me something like $5,300 to get it on the road. Then it'll need the head gaskets and timing belt pretty soon, which are going to run $400 for everything including the water pump, T.B. tensioner and pulleys, and an engine gasket kit. What say you NAC?

I despise these cars with a passion. There are two sitting in my driveway and I can't wait to get rid of them, one I have control over.
All the import guys love the 2.5L, I think it is a gutless POS. Stick or Slushbox. The 3.0L/3.6L are way better (assuming naturally aspirated engines).
The only plus I see is the oil drains really quick with the huge drain plug.

That's my reserved, holding it back, opinion. ;)

Did you check the rear quarters really well? They LOVE to rust right there.

I didn't look at them real close but they looked okay. It's silver so a bit of rust should stand out. I still need to check the underside of the car and the steering/suspension if I wanna buy it.

My 2.5rs was slow but sounded cool and was faster than 350zs and stock stis in autox. I paced some dude in a 90s 911 on some twisty ass road upstate once. But mine was a way cooler GC body. Pass on that Adam.. my buddy picked up a running good condition 02 wrx for 5500, my 98 was 5k and had 40k on a new motor and almost 3k of suspension goodies underneath

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Your transfer case is gay anyway. Obviously it doesn't want to be in your truck because it's trying to escape as it is.

The best thing you will ever do in your life is make it so the transfer case and driveline and be serviced & removed from the top.

At that point I might as well just dump the transmission too and go NV4500, and my crossmember will, without a doubt, have to be modified or moved back or something.

I don't like erotic expensive driveshaft parts, but up front they're less prone to being laid onto rocks. Still, I remember having this talk before when I wanted to go to a 203/205 doubler and you told me to use what I had first and see what happens .

Also, mine is clockable, you just have to redrill the front face of the case. I already did it once and I have a spare stock case lying around right now that Carmelo gave me.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

These tards have spent the past hour trying to figure out how to move the shed with zero luck

Can they be nominated for tards of the year?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Adam, just wait for a civic again and slap Carmelo's 4.0 in the XJ so you can drive it.

Civic is cheap, and you can ditch the rental as soon as they cut you the check.

Now that Bill says it, I think the reason that trim piece was hanging down on the PS rear was because the inner lip was starting to rust and not holding it on anymore. I didn't look that close at it though. I say keep shopping around. Or buy a wagon :)

I assume you plan to drive it into the ground. And if it needs no (or little) other work after you get the head gaskets and timing belt taken care of it should have a pretty low cost of ownership...

Now what about what Ross said? It probably didn't have a tuner because it's NA. You can't get the same degree of benefit with a tuner out of a NA engine as a boosted engine. I hate aftermarket alarms though.

It had a tuner sticker on the back, a couple of extra connectors & lose wires under the dash, and a couple of random jumper wires under the hood on the engine harness.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Dunderson, don't forget all that registration tax title bs that adds up, too.

Seeing Beavis & Butthead last night brought me back to high school. Anyone else catch it?
