THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Diving at night is absolutely awesome.

I started big green today since it hasn't been ran for a while. I turned it on, let it idle, revved it a bunch, etc, turned it off, then it started pissing coolant out of the water pump or the lower hose going to the pump, not sure. Either way, really weird, and that is the official death of it.
wait, you're ripping that jeep apart because of body damage and some silly water leak?

fix that shit and beat it up more first :bs:

what's the next jeep to get built? Rob's old one?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Got any pictures there, Markass?

Bummer about green Jeep. I started McJeep up today and did a reverse burnout out of the garage then drove it into my YJ's plow. No carnage report though
Pictures of what?

Haha, smooth!

Needs a hose or water pump. Part it out.

:D
Yep, that is one of the many parts it needs.

Ya, Rob's old one. Yes I'm ripping the Jeep apart because its done, I'm not going to put any more time and effort into it, I'm not Sam.

By the time I take stuff apart to fix it, I'm already halfway through stripping it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think Mark doing a shell swap is fine. If he started next weekend he would still be wheeling in the spring, he did a frame swap on a Wrangler in a summer on the weekends, swapping suspension and drive train isn't a big deal on and XJ.

Just plate the stupid thing while nothing is in the way,

Last time you had those weird green pictures, didn't know if you were or if you even can, take pictures of the stuff you guys find with flashlights.

It was fairly intentional, I needed as much room in the driveway as I could get and it was only going to hit the d ring tabs.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

and not to mention thats probly one of the cleanest shells in the north east(cept the pass rear quarter) unless thers somthing that majicly appered

Sam wheels every weekend and just slaps plate on till it works again :roflmao:

Rob's old jeep getting built  if Mark built the briarwood I might have to hurt him. It's just too pretty and clean for that... because you know it's going to bounce off a tree sooner or later.

don't let Ross spot you anymore, Mark

That is 100% the intention.

My dad's XJ is cleaner. :) (it came from Cali)

Oh, I see. No, no underwater pics this time. Its actually really expensive to do underwater photography. I looked, and just a case for my camera costs in the thousand dollar range. But ya, pictures do come out if using nice big strobes for a flash, and I wish I had a camera, I saw soo many creatures and tons of lobster. I was under there for 50 mins, my longest dive so far I believe.

The guy who took the pictures last time had gone diving earlier that day down somewhere out of RI I think. Him and a bunch of the other guys went diving on a German U-boat. It was the last boat sunk in WWII off the east coast, its 130 ft to the sand where it sits. Search East Coast Divers on facebook and you'll see a video he took of them diving the boat, and you can see a little bit of what its like, everyone has lights. A few times I pointed my light behind me so it was pitch black in front of me, nice and crazy.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i see all these car and chopper shows where they have all these super fancy tool for metal shaping, i just use a blacksmith hammer, alot cheaper and does just as good of a job, if not better(ok i may have to use a little more seam sealer and/or bondo then them)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just watched the video Mark. Pretty badass.

Ya, I want to dive that some day. I've got a ways to go before I decide to go for my advanced certifications like deep diving and wreck diving/penetration. I guess there is an armed torpedo still in one of the torpedo bays you can see.

So I just went down to close up the garage, damn jack I forgot it slowly leaks down over time. I bent down to turn the light off under the Briarwood to find a puddle about a foot across and from the tranny almost to the rear axle. No T-case meant the tranny was open and pointing at the ground.

Which by the way, full fluid (nice and red, but with metal shavings) and the chain is not stretched is what I found so far with the old t-case.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Dundy's XJ is more badass than Ross's now.

Maybe he'll take pics tomorrow.
What's he got for tires? I know he was planning a one ton swap but didn't know he had tires ready to go on it...

My foundation wall is ready for the sill plate to go on it as soon as the remaining mortar cures a bit. I figure it should be good to go by tomorrow.

Which is a good thing, because I kinda tore the entire wall down today :laugh2: I got a little carried away with the wrecking bar. Studs, door frame, sill plate, outer wall sheathing... all of it is gone.

Went through 2 more bags of mortar tonight. Fortunately I finally bought one of those huge eggbeater style drill attachments for mixing plaster and mortar, so mixing an entire bag of mortar takes about a quarter the time now and doesn't involve being up to my elbows in uncured cement.

Which by the way, full fluid (nice and red, but with metal shavings) and the chain is not stretched is what I found so far with the old t-case.

Odd, wonder what's wrong with it? Shift collar / shaft teeth worn down to nubs?

Diving looks like a hell of a lot of fun but sadly I am lacking in both time and money to pick up another expensive hobby.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

middle of working on the jeep today my 14 month old angle gring crapped out, so i went and bought another rhobi, also had a sick viper pass by the house, very loud exhaust and he got on it pretty decently after stopping at the light

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

aaaaand pulled pork is cooking.

Took me almost exactly 1 hour from when I had the idea to make pulled pork to when it was 'done' and cooking, including going to the store and all that nonsense.

Trying to decide if I want to spend today working on the Jeep or relaxing on the pork with words with friends, a book, and coffee followed by football. Probably will end up doing both.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just test drove a 2011 Subaru WRX hatchback 5 speed, and 2012 Ford focus hatchback 5 speed.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Those are quite nice.

Right now I'm left debating whether I want to add BBQ sauce to the pulled pork or leave it 'dry' and let people add bbq/other sauce on their own if they want when they make a sandwich

as long as you don't buy a VW you are still cool

I just finished framing in the wall I tore out yesterday, my house will be more airtight tonight than it has been in months... for that matter, since I bought it. The back door was originally a very cheap interior-grade one, right below a leaky flat metal roof with no overhang, so it basically fell apart in my hand the first time I opened it. Now it's going to be a steel exterior grade door with actual door seals.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ken i sent you a text, if your getting the 5sp tranny let me know cause I'm heading to MA thursday afternoon so you'd have to finalize it by wed
