You like fat white broads?
Fat white broads need lovin' too. That said I have already done my time :laugh3:

I'm reading about CTDs and trying to remember all the BS with them, and realizing that the trucks I'd like to find are laughably rare :(
Ditto. And then I decided to say XXXX it and buy a car. I'm not complaining though I still plan on picking up an old truck, possibly an old CUCV, for towing whenever I get around to buying a house. Actually have a few decent and well priced houses in the Worcester/Grafton/Uxbridge area to look at next week if I can find the time to do so.

Happy times?

Big decisions to make... work on the XT tonight or drink large quantities of beer. hrmmmm

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

What are you looking for?

well, Ideally? a 98 12v sport with a 5 speed QCSB 4x4 and like 100k at a dealer 10 minutes away for me for under $15k.

Realistically? Not sure to be honest. I want a second gen, 12v or 24v, preferably 12v but 24s fine too.

Musts:

be at a dealer that can finance
high ish mileage is OK but it needs to run good and be able to last me 5+ years
manual transmission :)
not a rot box
under $15k (assuming I'd get approved for financing that high)
4x4, unless it's a great deal in which case I'd be willing to look at a 2wd

Wants:
power options
QCSB
NOT dark green
"low" miles, aka under 150k
no performance mods
not a 53 block

The part about needing to buy through a dealer that can finance is really what's making it so difficult to find what I want. If I had cash and could go with a private sale I'd be able to find something to fit the bill much more easily...

Why dealer financing and not a bank?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

If I go through my bank, an auto loan is only good for 01 and newer, and I won't get approved for a personal loan for that kind of money because it's an unsecured loan. So, I could go through the bank, but then I'm limiting myself to finding something that's either an 01 or 02...

Why dealer financing and not a bank?

I know some banks/credit unions won't finance anything with over 75k or 100k miles (or similar numbers). I was going to buy a CTD with 108k miles and was told by the rep that they can't finance anything with mileage that high. She did say that other banks may not have that limitation but the truck sold before I could get to any other banks to find out if it was even an option.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I don't think my bank has mileage limitations, but nothing older than '01 last I checked and they won't finance any higher than what the NADA retail value is for the particular vehicle.

Why not go to other banks? :dunno:

I had my car loan through Harbor One and they were great to deal with though they were the people who said no more than 75k or 100k miles. Then again there was no limit on what year the car/truck could be, just a mileage limit based on what I was told.

Call around to a few different banks/credit unions and ask them what their limitations on car loans are.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Travis pending the dealer you may have issues financing a truck that old just some food for thought and. Were in and out of traffic the whole point of takin 81 was to avoid all the bs traffic on 95

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I went through my bank when I financed my truck...it had 78k on it, but it was an '05 (this was august 2007). They didn't mention anything about the miles though.
