No need to appoligize to me. My monthly bill is probably $35-50 lower.
I don't want the ability to check email or anything when I'm not at a computer. To soon will be the day I'm forced into it, but I'm holding out.

They are cool, just not something I want to get roped into.

now root it and throw a rom on there and start doing nasty shit like opening garage doors... you've barely scratched the surface of what they can do, mine is half the device yours is.

This would be my problem. I wouldn't be able to stop fiddling with it.

Unless you're geting paid to use your phone, I would disagree.

I will never have the compulsive mentality to be in touch with the world 24/7. If I'm doing something where I'd rather not be bothered, I have no problem there.

Way I figure it, I just have the ability now to do computer stuff without having to be sitting at a computer. Which I dislike doing on my own time anyway because I spend 40 hours a week doing just that.

Once the novelty wears off I imagine my usage will drop dramatically.

i just looked at mine... its 84" lolz.

spoke w jeremy over at rock krawler, ordered the 4 link upgrade. after we spoke about what i'm doing its way cheaper to just buy that and everything else separate... should have that in 7-10 days. then i called deaver and theyre shipping me out a pair of leafs today. my shocks should be here late this week....

this is bad. i might have to call out sick from work next week.

This would be my problem. I wouldn't be able to stop fiddling with it.

Email is just about the only thing I wanted to make sure my new phone could do. That and gps, all I wanted was a phone that wont break that will constantly check my email. Checking the weather for me is also a huge plus. The phone is actually going to come more in handy when I'm doing construction than anything else.

I thought you needed a super duper fancy data plan for those things? IDK, I have the cheapest basic plan with a $5 txt package.

and made another order with parts mike... 2 yokes and a hi steer arm w hardware. the dude on the phone was barely awake, only 830am on the left coast.

Family plan. $30 unlimited data, whatever that cheap txt plan is, and a small portion of 1400 shared minutes between everyone else on the plan.

I was going to change it over to my name, but the plan owner (my father) has to physically be at the store in order to release the number. I was in no mood to bicker about it so I'll just take care of it later.

The Verizon guy's job couldn't have been any easier. Here's me, hungover and still wearing race day clothes, 10:30 AM.

Guy: uh, can I help you?

Me: yeah. This thing finally broke, and yes I'm eligible for an upgrade. Lookin for a Droid with a keyboard, whatever plan I need to make it work, and whatever accessories I need so I won't break it or worry about the battery dying. :helpme:

I don't forsee an increase in what I'll want to use a computer for (I do still take pride in self-navigating and knowing stuff about stuff), but I'm sure I will be using the actual computer a lot less, which I think is a relatively good thing.

I'll still be taking a mental note of how everyone's phone lasts compared to mine. I know a bunch of you have had smartphones for a while but I'm still pretty convinced I beat the shit out of my phones more than any of you. I just finished breaking my (I think) 5th phone in about a year or so. I'm not sure how my phone vs other phone w/ case would compare.

Oh, how nice. I just got motivation to go do some work on my Jeep, and I went to take off the rear tire carrier arm. The arm has a large sleeve with internal bushing that slides over a spindle that sticks up on the bumper. Then, a single socket head cap screw goes through the top of the sleeve into the spindle, and prevents it from coming off.

I went to find the correct allen key, and found that the bolt was less than finger tight. Sweeet!

Unless you are on Sprint then it really is unlimited

Root phone -> Free wifi (or wired) tethering -> awesome! As long as you aren't downloading absurd amounts of stuff you can use rooted tethering quite freely and not worry about the service provider screwing you over. I have had free tethering on my last few phones and it saved me quite a bit whenever I went on vacations and didn't want to pay for internet, plus it got me through the first month of living in VA when comcast kept sucking a big one and couldn't figure how to set up internet at my apt.

Before upgrading to my new phone I had a $67 per month plan which included the full insurance, unlimited internet, unlimited text, and 450 minutes. With my new phone (which required that I upgrade to the 'everything' plan along with paying a $10 'premium data' fee) I have the exact same plan with sprint music and TV (never used them but I have them) for effectively the same price. Huzzah employee discounts.
