THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I can smell it burning all the way in Marshfield....

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That's what my dad recommended but it would kill my summer. I wouldn't be able to make NAC Fest if I did a summer course. I almost have enough where I can pay off the semester now, but I don't have to start payments until Aug 5. By then I'll have enough, but I wont sit comfortably with only a minimum balance in my bank. And in Oct I get an insurance check from an accident I was in so it'll pay for the semester and then some. So for a few months I'm just not doing anything. Thankfully I have most everything I need to wheel for the summer.

I just got new steering stuffs
rocker replacements
frame stiffener material
3 spare shafts for each side
2 spare rears
spare d shaft

Only thing that can kill my season would be blown up gear set, motor, or tranny.

I just can't do my suspension and cage this fall like I planned, or gather parts for the 44.

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

School is more important than Jeeps or any Jeep events. Don't be stupid.

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I can pay for it by the time I need to without F.A. But it leaves me with just enough money to keep my DD running and small problems that may arise. I just wont be able to do any fun things. I have had a NAC Fest fund set aside for a little while now. But I am now considering not going and using it to make a payment early.

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Why not go to the summer class to get your GPA up, so you don't have to spend as much money?

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I took summer courses last year and don't want to this year. It killed my relationship with my dad and almost got me kicked out of the house because I wasn't working enough because of homework.

The more I think about it the more taking my NACfest money is sounding like a smarter idea. Possibly sell off some of the jeep parts again to make up some more money.

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

On a totally different note, I can't find a shaft collar with these dimensions made in something STEEL that can handle the thrust load of my front ram (trying to limit it's travel).

Bore size = 1.5"
Width = 3/4"
OD = preferably 2.5" or less

All I've found is a one-bolt hinged one at McMaster that's 1/2" width. I could double them up on each side and live with slightly less steering.

They have a plastic one that fits the bill but eff that.

McMaster-Carr P/N: 9746T8 should work.

Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Sorry to hear about all that stuff Keith. Good luck

2 things:

- shoulda told PSC that when you ordered it, they'll modify the travel at no charge

- Why do the shaft collars see thrust loading at all?

That's 9/16" width.

a. I must have measured incorrectly. I triple checked and got exactly 8" every time back in December.

b. Don't ask me, I'm making shit up. I just don't like the idea of using plastic.

That sucks Keith.

Yep, pretty shitty timing but whatever. Life happens, I'll get over it. Two more years and I'll have a real job and no school, good tow rig and a shitty Jeep. MOVING ON! :conceited

Can't you just clamp it on 3/16" closer than a 3/4" thick clamp??? I can't see the clamp sliding unless you beat the bag out of it.
