Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

OMG YOU CAN'T REUSE BOLTS

I used all the bolts in my engine and crankshaft/flexplate/torque converter. Everything but the bolts failed. I had made my torque converter bolts back into hexagon shape with a bench grinder since the flexplate had been grinding them down.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i just took a set of those off a motor over the weekend, if i can remember where they are and my buddy doesnt need to keep em i'll send them to ya

Were they off a 5spd?

The 5spd ones are about .250" or so longer than the auto ones to account for the flywheel thickness over the flexplate.

UP. Not out. There's a difference. :D

Goin up with 3-4 other trucks from here for a Trucks Gone Wild event.

But apparently there's some pretty good trail riding and obstacles too. Up near Albany.

Im curious to know how that place is I heard it was alot of mud... Im headed up to Rok Freekz in 3 weeks up in Fonda NY supposed to be some crazy wheelin there. So i guess ny does have one or two things :D

I have no problem throwing money away if it's fun for me. But investments to me are about making money.

But re-reading my post I see how I probably sounded like a dick.
 no problem. I see where you are coming from but the bike has saved me money in gas (Hasn't saved me enough to offset the purchase price yet but still... would be saving me more if I wasn't DD'ing a 32mpg car) and it has also relieved stress and helped me quit cigs to a degree... I cut back on smoking a TON last summer when I could just hop on the bike and ride instead of smoking one and feel just as good afterward.. I'm guessing that cut back made actually quitting cold turkey this year much easier.

Pass. I know nothing about the price of the air rifles/swords but the TV and DVD players aren't worth anywhere near what you are asking for the Jeep.

I CAN WATCH TOP GEAR ON TV! YAY FIOS!
On Sunday night I found out that every Top Gear UK episode from season 2 thorough season 15 (IIRC that's the range) is now on netflix instant view and its actually organized. :D The only episode that's missing is the polar special which is "DVD only" but I can live with that.

Colin that blows about your axle.

Meh, like I said I'm already over it.

As long as the u-joints don't bind up and my camber isn't crazy (which I've never noticed) then I don't care.

Also figured out last night that if Tom Woods can make me a 1310 CV that will do 35º (which they said they could) then I should be able to pull ~9" of travel out of the front. I can live with that. EDIT: That measurement was limiting it to 34º.

Driveshaft would only cost $380 to my door. I can't even build a single cardan with deep throat yokes for that price. That's also full length splines on the slip.

Never asked

I should be able to clear up to 2.25" OD no problem, but I'd like to stay at 2" OD.

Must be nice.

Thin wall driveshafts just scare me for some reason. Yes, I know every driveshaft on the planet is made from thin wall tube, and I'm sure there's a reason why they're not made thicker, but I like my 0.25" one just fine.

Besides, what the XXXX else am I gonna do with a full stick of 1.75 x .25 DOM.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

2" x .120" DOM, full length splines (~6"), 1310 CV, 1350 axleside joint.

27.5" long with 23º at ride height (net angle). I can droop it right now about 2" before it binds up.

I point my driveshaft about 33-34º down and I gained 2-3" of droop. That puts me at about 8.5-9" of total travel. EDIT: Tom agreed, I would gain at least 2" of droop.

$379, ready to bolt in.

Colin needs a rangebox. That'll fix everything.
