I wasn't saying it with malice, just that that is where you belong. You love the whole neighbor saying high to each other as they walk past and cut their lawns stuff, you think everything is mega cheap or should be wicked cheap, etc. You arrived a few decades too late. Ever seen the movie Pleasantville?

Bill, how are you not a tick if you eat A sandwich and A bag of chips for lunch. I eat at least 2x that and i'm 160 lbs no matter what I eat.

I don't think things are always super cheap. Trust me, lots of things are nowhere near what they should be, but you got to find the deals. Sometimes it isn't worth the time to day a few pennies or dollars, but other times it adds up quick. Priced construction materials lately? No wonder very few people are building new buildings.

I don't recall ever seeing that movie.

So just for shits n giggles I assumed $5.50 per day for a brown bag lunch and $7 a day for buying lunch.

For me, there are usually around 248 workdays per year.

I'd spend $370 more per year buying lunch rather than bringing lunch.

It would take 3 years just to break $1000. Not to mention that's assuming the prices at S&S are always the same week to week.

I'd have to drive 6min to get to a local sub place or a little chinese food place. Both of which I'd walk out at least $8 poorer for "basic" lunches.

If I had a cafeteria like you describe I'd eat there too.

I probably wouldn't want a bigger one mostly because I'm usually carrying my laptop bag as well as other stuff and it's not exactly a short walk from the parking lot to my cube (several hundred feet).

I walk 1/8 mile most of the time. NOW CRY ME A RIVER

Add in an apple, yogurt, and oatmeal bar per day.

If I eat here for lunch I spend about $6-7 but I'm FULL until I go home.

The caf here is ridiculous. $10 gets me through till 3pm at best. I don't go there unless I'm pinched for time and food (ie: can't get off base)

Just went to BK and spent $3.87. I'm full right now but we'll see how long it lasts.

I also work at a grocery store so I tend to drop things and they don't make it to the damaged cart full.
