THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

It is 1:17 am and I'm in the process of making my dinner: pasta. Second night in a row at that.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Zero reason for me to be up right now at 4am. I guess though technically I'm the first of the morning.

Take that Adam....

lucky, 5am M-F for me . On the road at 5:30. saturday and sunday im lucky if im up before 10am. That also depends on how drunk i was the night before.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

No way. I went to bed at about 930 and woke up at 730 feeling great. Though, I did wake up and walk around the house at 3 am for a little bit...
You sure that's in california? There was no mention of the security guard being arrested for murder, and no contact info to send money for the poor thief's medical/funeral expenses.
:gee: well put

Oh, I thought you nailed it on the door/armrest. There's much more room in that area, at least. :)

Plus I think friday/saturday I'm gonna cut out the inside A-pillars finally...knocking your helmet against that for 50 miles gets old pretty quickly.

Window nets ordered, new air filter ordered, precharger filter cover ordered, silver solder radiator repair kit ordered, fans shipping today/tomorrow...

Bill, what's the place where you get your driveshaft stuff from? I need to get a few more Spicer 1310's...

Silver solder? aint you fancy... I bring a plumbers torch, pipe flux, a sheet of 20ga (approx) copper step flashing about 4"x6", a 1/2" round wire brush, a pair of pliers, 95/5 tin/antimony plumbing solder, and a striker. Works great, I'm daily driving a radiator I patched with this stuff.

As for Spicer 1310s, I get em from Crown or alljeep. I think I paid $14 each for my current crop of 5-153X joints at alljeep.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

the ones i made for my jeep literally took me 30 minutes to make and install out of free scrap steel

ryan spent $120 on his and they took like 4 hours to install (but his drivers shackle box was XXXXEEEEDDDDDDD)
yeah idk how or why i drove on that for so long. the whole rear "frame" area back there is completely XXXXed

and that 4 hours also deals with taking that bumper off and putting it back on, breaking welded nuts and fighting to get shit lined up
i might go to uconn tonight and riot. who is in?

we fail

The stuff I'm getting *is* 95/5...it's just a split down the very edge of a few rows, so I can't really get any patch material on there. I only had rosin-core electronics solder laying around and the kit was $12 from Napa, for solid solder with a tube of flux...no biggie. Should work great with my little MAPP/oxy torch.

Looking for 5-785x which are a little harder to come by...grease fittings are the debbil.

Some place Bill linked a while ago had 'em for like $17ish I think.

Ahhh, that makes more sense. When the hole is on the flat side of a tube I just brush it clean, flux it, and put solder over it. If it's on an edge or goes right through I make a patch by folding a piece of sheet and fluxing it up, clean and flux the tube, slip it over, crimp lightly, then solder, it works great. One of my tubes was cut through the edge about 1/3 of the way across the whole tube and it doesn't leak a bit.

Not sure what I'd do about a slice straight along the edge, that would be a pain in the ass. Hasn't happened to me yet though. Probably run a piece of 12ga copper wire down the edge to give the solder something to sit against and then solder it down.

Alljeep has em for $17.13!

I like grease fittings but that's probably just me. What's your reason for hating them, strength reduction from the holes and stress risers?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

fact.
