THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I mean this with all due respect, but have you read any of the posts concerning the terms of my new shell?

Something else I just learned about... A certain somebody that many of us know has been banned from NES. Hints: He lives in NH and phone conversations with him are never short.

They saw right through his BS and he made a fool of himself.

DAMN I knew immediately it was him. Wish I could've been on here to guess right away and avoid the whole hint hint hint crap

Serves him right, that guys SUCKS

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I kind of like the idea behind it, but don't know if there is any actual benefit from it.
I like it too, if the gears are made out of solid unobtainium. Problem is, you end up ramming welded gear teeth into other gear teeth under full torque with this setup... it looks like a great way to take all the teeth off the spiders/sides and possibly grenade the carrier.

I've clearly never run it, but looking at it there is no way in hell that is going to change.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So I need to get the carrier bearings off my stock front D60 carrier.

Tell me why I shouldn't use my torch to do it. If there are no bad responses, I'm doing it.

Not to the point of cherry red or anything, just enough to knock them off with a brass punch.

If they're only going to be set up bearings, who cares. Heat them and hammer time! :guitar:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

XXXX that then. Cut off wheel, score it about 98% of the way through and put a chisel in the score mark, smack with hammer.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just did a distributor and tune up on my 4runner and they should never have put a v6 in one of those..... every spark plug is a pain in the ass to get to I am having my gf do the plugs next time my hands are too god damn big.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That's probably what I would do.

Are you even using the carrier? I thought you were gonna rock an ARB air locker in the front, though I might be thinking of the back.

It amazes me how tightly they pack stuff into some engine bays. You have to pull the intake manifold on my Dad's DD to get to the back bank to change the plugs. PITA.

Yeah I just figured I'd probably eff it up and cut through the carrier.

Old carrier + thick cut 5.38s up front.

ARB + thin 5.38s out back.

you won't, just when you get close to getting thru the race, stop, smack it with the chisel, if it doesn't break thru, grind a little more, smack it again, if it doesn't break thru, grind a little more..............

You'll be fine. Go slow and keep trying it until the inner race thing pops. You might have to do both sides. But I honestly wouldn't bother with the torch if you're not saving the bearings.
