THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just because a POS car has a decent engine in it, doesn't make it any less of a steaming pile of poo. And the SHO is one of those.

I hate it in all the ricer communities when they talk about how the engine in a car, or the handling characteristics. I don't care if it can take a corner, it looks like a pile of shit, and I would never want to drive it.

That engine is beyond decent. It's practically a work of art. Ford originally planned for the engine to redline at 10k, make 300 hp, and go in a Mustang. Ford then decided that no one would want a v6 mustang, so they turned it sideways and shoved it into the Taurus.

The thing is... SHO's can't take corners. It was comfortable, sounded awesome, and was pretty quick (but still not fast) in a straight line. In my opinion, the SHO is the best looking Taurus ever made. But it's still a Taurus.

For the most part, I don't really care about looks. If I like how it drives I can get past the looks.

Don't worry, I never especially want to drive a SHO either.

I just want to put its guts to a better use.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

why am i always left out
Because it's like a 98% chance that you're going to be there. I didn't feel as though you needed to be asked. And I gotta meet up with Travis soon so that's the only reason I mentioned him. Colin was left out because he lives in some dumb area of an even dumber state and wont show anyways.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Too many hose clamps!!!!!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I got those pre-bent(in god awful shapes) of brake lines from Adam a while back and they're way smarter than I am, and also way longer than they should be.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Did you make the mistake of trying to do the whole hardline to the right front?

Put it back where it was, forget you ever touched it, and replace only the part from the firewall to the rubber hose. It's the only part that ever rusts. Just use a double invert flare thinger instead of a compression fitting...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

WTF just pull the brake line out, bend a new one that looks like it and reinstall it. You wacky kids are always making things complicated!

I used a compression fitting and put a piece of wire loom over it. I did it as a temporary fix but it worked so damn well i'm keeping it

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

and that was a year ago, still holding strong, wire loom and all.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

gotta love those temporary-that-become-permanent fixes :laugh2:

I'm actually almost proud of my first ghetto booger welds. They held through a massive endo and are currently keeping a tarp over my stack of new shingles for the house from blowing away.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Actually I'm just going to cut a huge chunk out of it and use those fittings to join it back together and FIRI

I don't understand how everyone but me can simultaneously post in this thread WHILE working on their jeeps.
