Yeah... I think I'll be getting the D2 soon, but the only case I found on that otterbox site for them is the "commuter series", which has a smooth polycarbonate finish which "allows it to slide easily into and out of pockets".... I have a feeling it'd slide OUT of my pocket at the most inopportune of times. They definitely look like some nice cases though.

i have the commuter series.

what pocket do you put your phone in that it slides out? i also wear tight jeans..

yeah, I don't really wear tight jeans... I'm probably just being paranoid... But I've found my ipod touch in the snow outside twice in the past 10 days or so :doh:

does it come with the clipy thing? or is that only the defender series?

Took me almost two hours to get home tonight due to retarded drivers.

Didn't have motivation to go outside.

Now watching dinner for schmucks.

otterbox on my droid is awesome. i have yet to run it over with my excavator yet. both my old phones survived being under the tracks of the groomer. but snow is pretty forgiving

My phones:
Motorola C139: could not kill that sucker. Had it for over a year, still worked when I retired it because of a provider switch.
Nokia 6103: killed in 1.5 months, waste of money
Blackberry 7105: each lasted 10 to 11 months, bulletproof, I abused the shit out of them, had 2.
Blackberry 8830: lasted like 4 months, sucked balls, never again, turned me off to blackberries.
HTC Dream/Tmobile G1: awesome, had some SW issues I was going to fix with a software update, then I shattered the screen, bidding on parts hulks for it on ebay right now, hoping to machine a replacement frame/case for it out of the best steel I can get so it'll last longer next time. Anyone got some broken 14bolt/60/70/80 gears I can have to machine stuff out of?

Just searched otterbox, I just might ditch my gay phone for something new if I get one of those cases. Droid/Iphone type thing. Still scared, I break phones like nobodies business.

some retard managed to completely flustercluck traffic on 290, took me 45 minutes to drive what usually takes 15 :flamemad:

now I'm rebuilding a driveshaft, baking cornbread, and listening to music at the same time though so it's all good.

I gots the D2. It cool, I can do stuff with it. I can go on at the bar. I have the loosest pocket possible (open side pocket on right thigh on carpenter styles) and it never slides out. I too just looked at that Otterbox cover, very nice. I've just learned to have common sense that, BEFORE I start working on a vehicle, I take the phone outta my pocket and set it on the hood or something (I also usually put my wallet, thick with large wads of bills , there to). You dont have to worry about crushing/breaking them and you dont have to worry about laying on them and feeling something dig uncomfortably into your side.

ya i do this too. once i was working on my subie, then went to close the trunk.. wouldnt shut, wtf. so i used my jeep mentality and slammed it. and again. then again harder. then i noticed the truck was tilted up at the back... popped the truck.. old phone in pieces. oops.

i'm probably shelling out for the htc thunderbolt in a couple week... 4G bitch.

I use the same side pocket, my G1 never slides out of it, it only gets busted when I drop it or toss it by accident.

screw 4g, although I guess maybe it'll be worth it for you city folk. The rest of us won't have any use for it for a while. And with rumors of higher rates per month and lower data caps... I'm all set, for now at least.

more than likely 4G on verizon will be unlimited... even though theyre throttling the top 5% of data users, lte is gonna be 10mbps down. thats insane.

even unlimited, it'll still cost more. and the $30/month for the 3g unlimited data package makes me enough. I think I'll wait and see how stuff goes with the release of 4g. By the time it's widespread enough to bother with it (for me) I'll probably be ready for a new phone again anyhow. It's definitely crazy how fast it's supposedly going to be, though. and speaking of fast, I wouldn't mind waiting for the Bionic in a month or two, with it's dual core processors shocked but I like real buttons. No touchscreen-only for this guy...

My phone loads pretty fast :dunno: I see no reason to upgrade its speed. I judge a phone's capability by its ease of surfing at the bar and other remote locations.

who knows. verizon has confirmed 0 about there new data plans. 3g unlimited might die, and 4g might be unlimited.

also, the new every 2 plan is gone, so after your next upgrade, thats it. you dont get the extra discounts, and no using another family member's upgrade on your share plan. each line is only eligible for a discounted price every 2 years when you renew your contract.

valentine's day is the release for the thunderbolt... idk what i want to do yet. i'd rather spend 200 on jeep parts than a phone, but the one i have is a piece.

hm. so if 3g unlimited dies, you could still potentially have a 3g-only phone, but be forced into either upgrading to a 4g phone, or having a limited data package? that would suck. do ya know if you'll be able to have a 4g capable phone and use a 3g data plan? or with a 4g phone are you forced into the 4g data plan? If you can do a 3g plan I'll probably wait and get a 4g capable phone, and if the 3g unlimited is still available I'll do that until 4g is more widespread. assuming the rates are higher.

Anybody interested in a cheap 88 S10? Its all in good shape and good running order and could probably be had for a few hundred bucks. It became a secondary vehicle and we know the family that has it, hes a car guy and always kept the truck good and happy. If I didnt have enough project vehicles or a DD already, Id pick it up and maybe throw a 350 in it and have some fun.
