don't even bring the 18-55. the 18-135 is a great walkaround lens.

mhm. i have a 18-135 on my canon and <3

i never really liked that camera... but it is good. entry level nikons seems to out-shoot entry level canons.

just found a place 10mins from me wirh kerosene so it saves me a hour trip, not time to toss crossmember back into big jeep and figure out how to seal up back of aw4 so it dont puke everywhere

I tend to agree. But a $1k Canon body is better than a $1k Nikon.

I'll venture a guess as to why they're so expensive.

The have to pay for disposal of the materials and they have to have insurance for however many people and vehicles they have. Probably a bunch more things I'm leaving out.

I think they're charging that to clean snow off roofs, not do the roof itself. I hope I'm not wrong because damn, I would willingly do that for like 200 an hour for the entire weekend.

Really, it's not hard. Applying Carmelo's school of thought yields good results. Eventually you'll either make something go boom or get through/over what you want. The only thing that gets tricky is backing up going steeply downhill when you don't want to go forward or going forward while on a steep uphill when you don't want to go backward. You'll get good at going from the brakes to in-gear.

Those are the only situations I'll probably worry about.

But I should be able to start slipping the clutch and letting off the brake without touching the gas considering the crawl ratio.

friction point is your friend. if you even need it. like you said, you'll have a sweet low crawl ratio so it's probably a non-issue, but if you need to, burn the clutch a little bit. who cares? you're allowed.
