Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Looks like I'm really gonna have to suck it up to work on the MJ tonight...

Freakin cold as hell.

What are you trying to get done tonight?

I changed a rear brake line and my battery halfway through that snowstorm a few days ago, that was fun. After doing donuts and covering the axle in snow. I'll still take it over working in 90+ degree humid days. :D

Oh, footnote: my charging issue was the battery. I swapped in a smaller battery that was laying around and it's been fine even with that. The one that went bad was one of the good Everstart Maxx ones from Walmart (I say that in all seriousness, they're actually pretty good batteries for the money), which has a 3-year unconditional guarantee, so I just gotta run over and exchange it one of these days.

The track wheel on my mouse has this strange wear pattern to it. Just noticed it this morning and now it feels awkward as shit under my finger.

Really bothering me the more I use it. No way in hell it was like this yesterday. It's really like someone took a knife and whittled chunks out of 75% of the track wheel. Or maybe a mouse ate my mouse? :helpme:

If I get real bored I'll go steal the office camera and take a picture of it.

I agree, I can't even function when it's 80*+ and humid.

I think I'm going to trim the rear wheel well openings, and work on taking measurements/first cuts on bobbing the bed. Rear MJ openings are massive, and I actually don't have to trim much to stuff the 40s in there.

Rough guess is taking about 8" out from between the taillights and the wheel well opening. Should be close to 90* departure. Also helps me because I can move the shackle hanger to the bumper and put it wherever I want height wise. I want more than 1.5" of uptravel before the springs go flat (what I have now) since I don't want to invert them.

I don't plan on getting it completely done this weekend. I'll probably get the two pieces ready to be welded together, and then start on the bumper.

I don't want to work on getting the rear at ride height until the front is on it's own weight so I know what I need to do to make it sit close to level.

Like you've never done it, Ross.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

wow this just made my morning. i was throwing some salt down in front of my work, then i see a guy across the street strip down to nothing, i mean no shoes, no clothes, no nothing. Then he started walking up the street on the soild double yellow bare ass. the cops finally caught up to him and brough him back to get his clothes and he was yelling something about god, then he started singing god bless america god bless america god bless america. quite entertaining.

We had one in the the old cavalier couldn't get it to hold a charge. Swapped it out twice before getting one that worked (no it wasn't the car because there was a rebuilt alt and the 3rd lasted). I'm still hesitant to buy another. I will say they swapped them out no issue though.

'99 XJ has an Interstate the PO put in.
'97 XJ has the Sears Platinum
My truck has the original factory batteries.

I succeeded, therefore your comment is no longer valid.

Note how I have like 10 car lengths in front of me.
I hate people that do that.
Please post that in the thread in Off-Topic where that guy was defending "just cleaning the glass and go".

Sounds about similar in dimensions to that MJ that Adam's buddy had at Rocktoberfest?

I never posted my tard picture from the day after that snowstorm.

Hey buddy, wrong way. :D

I got to listen to my subwoofer yesterday. We hooked my completed (but not sealed)box up to Scotty's car. Sounded pretty good but still needs polyfill, carpetting, and to be properly sealed. I've got lots of sound damping to install. There were rattles everywhere. It's so close to being ready to listen to, but even after that part is done there will be a few other small things to take care of.
