THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

If I keep this up I can transfer to a school where the students know how to read!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Bilstein recommends 360/80 front and 255/70 rear for a coil sprung/leaf sprung jeep.

But 360/80 is only available in a 7100.

Why don't you get FOA's? I don't know shit about shocks but FOA's look cool.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm hoping really hard it DOESN'T snow tomorrow. If it does school is canceled, and since it's only a two week intermission course I need to make it up this saturday.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm not going back to find it, but Colin -

Yes I ran 12" travel 5125's on all 4 corners, Rob has 'em now. They were all 255/70. I ran them from the early 1-ton trail rig days, to one trip out at the Hammers with the airbumps installed, one race at Line Mountain, one race in North Carolina, and one RCRocs race. They always did pretty well for me.

After changing to the 2.5" coilovers and messing with the valving some, I definitely notice an improvement both racing and just going down the trail...but for what they were, I'd certainly recommend the 5125's for a trail rig again.

For your own planning purposes, with the 12" travel 5125's mounted with a top adapter similar to the JKS ones, with the lower mounting point about at the axle centerline, the shocks were my limiting factor for uptravel. I could have gained another inch or so by making the axle mounts even lower. Just something to think about.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Sweet.

I always had good luck with precision joints, at least in the driveshafts. They never gave me a problem and I even ran them in my XJ on 35s.
hmmmmmmmmm maybe I will say f it and run the precisions in the driveshaft. I don't feel like digging the spicers out of storage if they are there.

I need a new mini sledge.

I broke mine beating the perches off my rear D60.
I have the same one Anthony has. I've beat the crap out of it for quite a while and it hasn't died yet, but the handle has some chunks missing from where I missed my target.

I'm writing a super gay essay. I hate english. Yesterday when the class was asked "how was the girl going to get down from the ladder without her prosthetic leg?" everyone replied "she can't" while I said "...hang gliding..." no one laughed :dunno:

I don't get these people.
you need to start a webcomic, or a site called shitcarmelosays.com. come to think of it this thread is shitcarmelosays.com with a bunch of random chat mixed in.

My night job is already closed for tomorrow, if only fastenal closes i can go sledding all day
there is a 5 foot long wooden toboggan in the love shack at my place if you want to use it, just don't break it. We fit 5 people on that thing (drunk) in college and man did it ever haul ass.

I have 5 Precision #269 joints in my driveline right now (both CV's and the front axle yoke). Thanks RockAuto.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

This was not the morning for some punk to rip out all my RJ45s in a network closet.
Thankfully I made notes when I redid it this summer.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

wtf? what kind of idiot did that?

I am severely OCD about wiring and usually go nuts with velcro strips, waxed lacing twine, zipties, or dry vinyl tape, depending on the project. Someone just ripping it all up would likely result in blood.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Not sure.
I had made all the cables cut to length and routed all neat. They sure are not that way now (bunch of 7fts I had to use to just get some "made"), but I had to get it up and running. I'll go back and fix it later.
Thankfully it was the small closet (only ~150 directional connections) and not either my large or my main hub.

:roflmao: sounds like you had the same problem i did, you go to school with a bunch of handjobs or they think there to cool to laugh

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just bought a bunch of transfer punches and stamping punches and little sanding discs and other junk.
As much as I love HF...

which is why you get fancier shocks.

im not a shock expert. but the more unsprung weight you run the more i would probably want stiffer valved shocks. (tons and 40's= a lotta weight)

and your comanche is going to be lighter than an xj out back

foa's seem to be the best bargain out there. and thier customer service seems excellent.
