THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Good points I guess. I have 0 experience with D60 carnage so I'm not sure what to expect. I don't have the gearing of a doubler...so you think I would be ok with 10F and spicer 806s? I have like half of the low range you do.

I really don't think you'll have any issues with those parts.

In the usual wheeling group, 4 of us have Yukon 35-spline inners and outers, running 806 joints. Mine are actually the newest set of shafts, originally bought in May 2007, and the inners are still from that set. The other guys have been running them for at least a year or two longer than me, all with V8's. To date, I'm still the only one who has legitimately broken any of those parts...one guy lost a inner & outer due to a u-joint explosion, but it happened with he landed after getting 6 feet of air at full throttle and the whole kingpin ripped out of the inner C.

That same guy has also raced the RCQ twice, came in 2nd (I think) in the RCRocs race series, placed in the top 10 overall at Line Mountain, and got 2nd in the NJXOR race series two summers ago.

Sweet. Well that will save me a bunch of money.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

dont do it unless its a SICK deal, and comes with everything
they are a nightmare to setup, and you need special bearings and shims

yeah chances are i wont get it. probably just stick with the aussie in the rear, do a disk conversion, and throw some sort of alloys in it

You already did trying to weld to cast :gee:

 I love being a welding n00b.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Now that I can see that not on a 1.25" cell phone screen, that weld at the link mount is a bit undercut, but it should be ok after all boxed in.

Yeah I didn't grab the link mount as much as the otherside because it was turned in towards the center of the jeep (bigger gap)

I think I'm going to go back over it. Other side came out better, hard to see in this pic though.

Don't worry about it. It's all good.
Sadly this photo missed most of the air time...but the landing sure brought the suck.
Whoa!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That looks like one of those really painful landings.

I really hate it when companies get year splits and specs completely wrong - for some reason Randy's Ring & Pinion lists the 8.25 as being compatible with the Grand Cherokee 92-01 WJ. I don't think they got a single thing right about that.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yukon sucks.
you guys must baby your 60's for them to hold up

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Sam called you guys pansys.

Fine then, it ain't my $900+. :D

I know I paid under $750 total shipped for 4340 35-spline inners and outers assembled with Spicer joints.

Yukon 44 stuff brings the suck hardcore. Or at least it did; they have that new Hardline series out now. The 60 stuff has a pretty decent reputation.

I'm not sure whose these are, rebadged something-or-others I'm sure, but this is a great deal too:

That's where I bought mine originally and they warrantied both my stub shafts without question.
