I know I brag about my large amount of Dana 60 carnage, but honestly I haven't broken anything in over 2 years now (and almost 3 years on the current set of shafts), and this past year was the most brutal shit I've ever put that thing through. One of the stubs has about 2* of twist at the splines. I have no idea how long it's been like that for, and it's still in there. If I find a good deal on stub shafts somewhere I'll probably swap it out and keep it as a spare, but I'm not that worried about it.
And even with all the 4340 stuff that I *did* break, which is 3 stub shafts total, I'm still only in it for the initial amount plus a little bit of shipping because it was all warrantied. And that's with Yukon stuff, and all breakage occured in 182:1 low range.
For what you're gonna be doing, IMO that's a crapton of money you could easily spend elsewhere on the rig.
