really now :read: I'm gonna have to try that on my spare motor next time I get a chance. Does it interfere with the frame rail at all?

It *might* clear if you install the motor with the filter already on it, but even then I don't think you'd ever be able to unscrew it far enough. I noticed it when I was dropping the motor in and changed it back to the right-angle adapter I had before.

The side of the right-angle adapter that mates with the motor is effectively an 'oil filter'. The O-ring and all that are the same, and the gigantic torx head thing screws into the threaded hole in the block where you'd normally have the part to screw the filter onto.

oh... and Colin, the military is much like your brother. They assembled that motor and then painted over damn near everything. Green paint flaked off every time we pulled a hose clamp off it. People who buy the motors new-in-crate surplus say they often get them with olive drab overspray on the belts and pulleys.

what year is that oil filter adapter off of?

my o-rings are starting to leak something fierce and it would be nice to simplify my elbow a bit while im in there

man up and change the o-rings. takes 20 minutes.

Really? I like the newer adapter.

I can a run a 1 qt filter without issues.

dont matter, chevy/dodge 60's are bolt in spring overs that net 5" lift, and a d300 can fix the output issue
