THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Well I just (as of 2 hours ago, been fighting with wifi on my laptop and firmware issues on my cell) finished shoving a new aw4 in the 96. Pulled the whole drivetrain, swapped the trans (had to use a little ross power lining it up while bolting down the bellhousing, ever hold an aw4 in one hand? It sucks) and shoved it all back in. Another hour or two of reattaching hoses and lines and shit tomorrow after work and it should run again!

All you guys with garages who aren't getting shit done should get your asses in gear, did it in a parking lot in a thunderstorm, got dark halfway through and only had a hand cranked flashlight and I still finished AND had fun. I'd do it again in a second.

That leaves some more floors, fuel hoses, rear bumper reinstall, shackles, bleeding the brakes, and reinstalling the hitch before it's ready to roll. I'm aiming for this weekend unless parts for the massivemobile show up fast in which case that gets done first.

Also, anthony, what evening works for you, and does anything on your rig need doing that I can help with in return?

Dirty ideas are brewing...

Getting yelled at by Bill in 3...2...1...

Nice. Do it.

I'm not even going to bother, you'll never go through with it. :D
I suppose it's a good thing that I get yelled at by Bill, then. (And Colin, Adam, etc)

Tuesday is probably the best for me, Weds could work too though. Plenty of stuff needs doing that you can help with, but this week isn't a good time. I'll take a rain check on the helping hand, if that's ok with you.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Works for me, I'm always up for working on stuff unless I'm trapped in a cube or sleeping.

Also, omg I can barely move my arms. That was the most exercise I have gotten in quite some time.

All I got done this weekend due to Tom Petty concert Saturday night and the rain yesterday. Didn't take any decent pics because I forgot until this morning.

Ken, Ok. Are you going to be bringing them back with you after we finish them? Even if we did finish them, would you be able to put it in the back of the MJ? I assume you would be painting them back at your place, too. If it's raining they're going to get surface rust really fast...

Colin, the gauges are sweet. No way to argue that.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm really not sure :( I wasn't planning on the head gasket on the M54 blowing up quite the way it did. Threw a wrench in my planning pretty badly.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

If this stuff has to sit and wait until I get back from Alaska I won't care. I say your #1 priority is fixing the head gasket. The ramps can wait. I can finish welding the first one up one night this week and we can do the other one after I get back.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That works, I just hate to leave your garage full of my junk :spin1: I'm sure it gets in the way.

That is presently my #2 priority since parts won't arrive for some time... #1 is connecting the new drivetrain in the 96 to the body again, I can't wait to drive that thing now that the transmission isn't on the edge of failure.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ok. Yeah, I am tripping on them, but oh well. I will live. Maybe I'll make that welding cart...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I wish the Jeep 5-speed was as light as a mazda 5-speed. :gee: the Miata transmission is downright toss-able. I'm thinking that trans couldn't have been much heavier than the 3rd member for the 9". But we got his trans out and somehow his input bearing, throwout bearing, and slave cyl were all trashed. Got them on order, should be here mid week. Gotta replace my brake line tonight and the Jeep will be back on the road again.

See you then. Are we getting it at a local pizza place and eating it in my garage or what?

I haven't eaten a buff chick in a while. I'm craving it.

Yes, that was intentional.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

And you can pay me back!

Who's coming?

Sam
Colin
Adam
?

If you want to come post up.

Scott, if you find yourself wanting to type a paragraph about what you might be doing on Thursday evening, a simple "I won't make it" will suffice. :gee:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Wooo buff chicken! (I must get the brake line fixed by Thursday I guess). I won't deprive myself of it but I won't actively search it out either.
