Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i've done it twice by accident on my SV. also not fun.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Scott go to Bridgewater and get a buffalo chix pizza with chopped pepperoncini's on it well done from Flyin J's, thats what I would do.
Hmmmm, I haven't been to flying J's in a while. And that sounds like a hell-of-a pizza. Might have to try that out.

Nucci's Super Slice?
That sounds familiar but on google maps that place is coming up on Sumner. I'm sure I have gone there too because it just sounds real familiar... But the place I was thinking of is across the river from downtown; IIRC it was one exit up Rt 5 from memorial bridge.

Edit: Just looked at Nucci's on streetview, def not that place though I do think I ordered from there before (or at least looked it up at one point looking for local pizza spots).

I remember we always used to go to order a half dozen slices for < $20 and bring them back for my apt, we would always order while we were at table and vine (or whatever it's called now) getting beer. :dunno:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You're gonna be so jealous.

On that note, got my parts into Novak. I have no idea why I bothered to deal with those bearings.

Front input bearing retainer - $35
Countershaft rear bearing retainer - $25
nice. worth it. i think i'll be happy with my setup once it's all together, though. i'm too far into it to turn back now. plus, i want to make everything from scratch. i might be flame cutting some plates next week.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I love google maps street view. I just drove myself from memorial bridge to the pizza shop via streetview. I knew I remembered how to get there :D

It's Liquori's pizzaria & restraunt @ 659 Westfield Street, West Springfield.

Damn good pizza, the owner/chef dresses up and everything, awesome guy... Love everything I had from there. For BBQ chicken pizza they just tore up chicken fingers and put HUGE chunks of chicken on it, their ziti pizza was great. Apparently they have a real cheap seafood dish and stuff too. You walk in there and feel REAL sketchy about ordering seafood (I never got it myself) but my friend and his [now] wife had it and said it was pretty damn good, esp for the price. Plus they have all the circus type candy but real cheap there too.

Now I want to drive out to springfield for pizza and to bring a ton of Wings home :laugh3: Well for the food and just for the drive, I miss living out that way. Hopefully will be out to central MA within a couple months, wish I didn't work so far east or I would move further west than Charlton.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Crack welded (surprisingly easy to fix, had to weld it left handed and didn't use any filler rod), and frame plate 1/3 of the way welded on.

I don't think I'm going to plate the passenger side frame, it doesn't have any steering or anything attached to it so it should be fine for now.

 Glad to see some progress.

Did you drop your front axle to do this though? If you did I would do it now.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Why? I don't jump mine like Colin did, I don't go hardcore wheeling, mine pretty much stays on the streets these days. What benefit am I going to see by welding on that plate right now, for street driving? I would much rather spend that time working on/getting my bumper finished, which will have an extended mount that will pick up a lot of mounting holes on the pass rail, and will act to stiffen the front as a whole.

I just unbolted the steering box (so I could get to the crack) and the trackbar bracket. After that, it drops all the way to the floor without any problems. I did remove the driver coil, but the passenger coil is still there, and would take a little longer to take out. If I honestly want to do it, I can do it when ever I get to the main uni-body stiffners, as I will have to drop/remove the axle for that anyways since I'll be removing the drop brackets.

Edit: ya there is a good amount more work if I wanted to weld it on. I would have to strip that hole side of the paint, which took a little while, cut the top off the other one, and get it ready to weld on. I'd rather work on the bumper, then go hang out with my friends in Wellfleet, which is the real reason I came home this weekend.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

If you think you're going to add it later...do it before your front bumper.

Or else take that measurement into consideration when building the bumper.

Your dog is hyper.

When did you get a new dog Bill?!?!?! PICS NOW!!!

in all seriousness, jsut plate the PS too. the reason i have to get rid of my awesome front bumper is cause it was built before front stiffys and will not fit once its stiffened.
